• When I saw Daphne fall from the landslide, my whole world seemed to collide as well.
• Before my sanity snapped, I raced toward the river edge, ready to transform back into human form. But no matter how quickly I could do that, the time between life and death was faster. The mass of huge rocks slammed into the river, causing it to be blocked. The water spilled to the edges, seeking another route. But there was no sign of Daphne.
