• Dolton nods, his tone serious. “Do it as soon as we get back. If your kingdom falls while we’re distracted, everything we’re trying to do here will be for nothing. And if the exiled are truly involved, they’ll exploit any weakness they can find.”
• I pull out my phone, typing out a quick message to my advisors. “I’ll double the patrols, strengthen the defenses around the borders, and station more guards at key points. I’ll make it clear that no one is to leave their posts until I return.”
