• Achilles’ Point of View:
• As the night drew closer, I had an unsettling feeling waver over me. I met with dad earlier in the evening and told him that she had agreed to marry me, so she was officially a part of the mafia in the future and was off limits. That might have saved her from him, but that also invited her to more dangers.
• What bugged me was the fact that she was so unaware of the way things worked around here, and I couldn’t be caring enough to tell her. Surely her presence had ignited some feelings that I had hoped to leave far behind me, but it wasn’t enough to bring me back. I had a lot to focus on, and she wasn’t any part of it.
