Chapter 164 Holding Back The Beast

  • Robert was hurled against a tree, the same one he had tried to pin me to earlier. The golden wolf was relentless, smacking Robert’s face back and forth with his massive claws. Blood streamed from the deep cuts on Robert’s face, which had now swollen to the size of a pig’s head.
  • I stood there, stunned, watching it all unfold. My anger had quickly shifted to fear. This golden beast wasn’t just trying to defeat Robert; he seemed set on killing him. And it wasn’t going to be a quick death, either. It was like watching a puppet master toy with his puppet, tormenting it over and over until it broke completely.
  • A conflict rose within me. As much as I despised what Robert had done to me, I couldn’t stand to watch him die like this.
