  • After finishing breakfast, Michael and the other person at the table got up to leave. Michael shot me a warning glance as he stood, but I ignored him, discreetly flipping him off under the table. He could be such a control freak sometimes!
  • When I first sat down at the table, my attention was drawn to the man sitting next to Sasha before I even noticed her. He was dressed entirely in black—from his hat to his shirt, pants, and shoes. He even wore a black headset and mask, making him stand out in the brightly lit dining room. The plate in front of him was empty, and he didn’t seem to be there for the food. Instead, he looked more like some kind of enigmatic performance artist.
