Chapter 14 Grinding Teeth, Farting, And Snoring

  • Fortunately, her clothing remained completely intact! Naturally, she was aware that Ferdinand was entirely incapable. Even if he had the desire, it would have been impossible. Just then, the maid walked in with a respectful demeanor. "Mrs. Montgomery, I’m here to assist you with your morning routine. Mr. Montgomery is waiting for you downstairs to join him in serving tea to Old Mrs. Montgomery."
  • Summer’s nerves tensed up once more at the mention of this. She silently grumbled about Ferdinand not waking her up! However, having been self-sufficient since childhood, she was unaccustomed to being waited on by others. She waved her hand, politely declining, "No need, I’ll take care of it myself." The maid looked eager to help. "It’s alright. Old Mrs. Montgomery specifically requested it." Saying this, she gently ushered her into the washroom. After half an hour, refreshed and dressed, Summer followed the maid downstairs.
  • In the living room, Agatha and Ferdinand were lounging on the sofa. The moment Summer appeared, Agatha beamed with delight. "Come over here, dear, sit by me." She was genuinely thrilled; her grandson’s misfortune in past marriages had weighed heavily on her, with two previous wives having met untimely fates. Summer was the only one to emerge unharmed after spending a night in the same room with Ferdinand. Upon learning she was safe that morning, Agatha had hurried to the ancestral hall to pay her respects and give thanks. She also gave strict orders to the household staff to let Summer sleep undisturbed, letting her sleep in as long as needed.
