Chapter 3 Cheated on Lawrence

  • "Shut up! I'm talking to Lawrence. Don't interrupt us!" Summer hissed.
  • Rolling her eyes, Abigail retorted, "I'm his girlfriend. I can speak for him."
  • Summer shook her head at Abigail's shamelessness. She didn't expect Abigail to stoop so low.
  • "Girlfriend? Abigail, you shameless woman. You're as bad as your mother. She stole my father, and now you want to steal Lawrence from me."
  • Then, she slapped Abigail.
  • The moment her hand landed on its target, Lawrence slapped her.
  • He looked furious as if he wanted to tear her apart.
  • It was her first time seeing him angry.
  • She was stunned, her eyes locked on his face.
  • She muttered in disbelief, "Did you seriously just hit me? How dare you hit me after betraying me?"
  • He cared too much about Abigail, which drove him to act impulsively.
  • His heart raced at Summer's words.
  • "Summer, you shouldn't have hit Abigail. She did nothing wrong. You shouldn't humiliate her."
  • Summer laughed instead of getting angry. "I see. It's my fault, huh? Should I haven't caught you two having an affair? Should I just let you manipulate me like I was a fool? Lawrence, you like me and you said so. How could you betray me with Abigail?"
  • "Summer, I did say them. Yet, I don't see you as a woman. You're like a sister to me. I'm sorry I didn't make it clear. That's why you misunderstood the situation. I love Abigail. She's the only one from the beginning."
  • His hurtful revelation pierced her heart like a knife and made it bleed.
  • However, she refused to believe it. "That's impossible! You're so kind. You always hang out with me and buy me the things I like when you meet my dad. You even visited mom."
  • Lawrence admitted, "Yes. It was only to please you and gain access to your house. I did it to see Abigail."
  • Her mind went blank at his words.
  • Then, she forced a sad smile. "So, was I a stepping stone all along?"
  • He said nothing. His silence confirmed her theory.
  • "Yes, Summer. You're just a stepping stone to Lawrence." Abigail interjected, "You have always been a stepping stone, nothing more."
  • Her harsh words trampled Summer's dignity and ground it into powder.
  • Grace couldn't stand the insult and retorted, "Abigail, you went overboard. Stealing your sister's boyfriend is a low blow. Summer is right. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. You're a sl*t."
  • The blunt comment hit Abigail hard.
  • Abigail was furious, and she pounced at Grace. "Who are you calling a sl*t? I dare you to repeat it!"
  • Summer shielded Grace and scolded Abigail, "The sl*ts will be you and your mother. Come at me, not Grace."
  • The provocative words fueled Abigail's anger.
  • Without hesitation, she rushed to Summer. "Go to hell!"
  • Soon, the two women were wrestling each other.
  • The next moment, Abigail ripped Summer's shirt and exposed the fresh marks on Summer's body.
  • Abigail recognized them at a glance.
  • "Summer, that's audacious of you to accuse Lawrence when you aren't innocent. You keep saying you love him, but you've been cheating on him with another guy."
