Chapter 10 You’ll Regret It!

  • Summer’s lips felt soft and warm, like the gentle brush of delicate flower petals. The sensation stirred something deep within Ferdinand—a heat and restlessness, strangely tinged with a familiarity that he couldn’t shake. At the same moment, his lips had touched down on her brow. The coolness of his touch, feather-light, sent an unsettling ripple through her heartbeat. For an instant, it was as if time itself paused. In the silence, their rapid heartbeats echoed, breaking the stillness in a way that felt startlingly loud!
  • Summer reacted first, muttering, "Your weight is too much to handle! Get off me!" She yanked his arm aside and swiftly slipped out from beneath him. Rolling up to her feet, she quickly distanced herself, watching him cautiously as though he might close the distance again. Ferdinand, however, rose smoothly, nonchalantly straightening his clothes. His steely expression was taut, giving no hint that anything unusual had just happened.
  • "I'll offer you one hundred thousand. Leave immediately." His voice was cold, emotionless, almost dismissive. Summer couldn’t ignore the irony—first, you kissed me, and because of that, you then decided to spare me? Yet, she stood her ground. "I’m not leaving." His voice hardened. "Two hundred thousand." She insisted, "I'm still not leaving." His tone became sharper, more insistent. "Three hundred thousand." Worried she’d keep refusing, he adopted a sinister tone. "If you go any higher, you won’t be worth the trouble anymore."
