Chapter 8

• However when she reached the room, her cell phone rang .The phone was so old and even the screen was spoilt so she couldn’t see who was calling, she picked it up and immediately heard Nina’s voice. When she calls, she knew that it wasn’t anything good.
• Any way she just picked it up because her curiosity got better off her. Sally wanted to hear what kind of a lie she will come up with.
• The moment she put the phone on her ears she heard her voice full of sarcasm. In any case it just felt normal because that is the exact way she had been talking to her.
• “Sweet sister, I would like to invite you for dinner later tonight I want to show off my boyfriend to you. I want you to see how handsome he is.”
• “Do you even have a boyfriend Nina? And why should I be interested when all of you never cared about me and my family.” She asked disgusted already with her fake conversation.
• “Don’t be such ungrateful, my parents fed you for many years and also when we were little I used to protect you from other people who wanted to bully you. At least you owe me that favor. If it were not for me, you would have been probably dead by now.”
• She remembered back then when they both went swimming in the river and suddenly she couldn’t breathe, she could feel the river flowing away with her. It turned out that the water current was too much for her and she couldn’t keep up.
• Then a hand tightly pulled her out and she was surprised that it was Nina, the sister who never cared about her. She told her that as much as she hated her she simply saved her life so as to continue making her miserable.
• At that time she didn’t care about her reasons the only thing that mattered is that she put all her hatred aside and saved her. So today she was going to return the favor and no more. She didn’t want to ever see them again in her life.
• Sally hurriedly left and brought back her clothes. She found out that they were dirty and smelly from being left unattended for the last one day. So she went to her bathroom and hand washed them carefully making sure that she did not tear their delicate materials.
• The dress she brought had to dry quickly because she planned on wearing it to go see Nina’s so called boyfriend. At least the dress looked a little decent and not worn out like the others. Working in the filthy club didn’t go to waste after all.
• It was still strange because since she left Willy’s bedroom in the morning, he just disappeared and hadn’t cared to show his face again in the house. But that was none of her concern as long as she was keeping her end of the deal she was good to go.
• When she finally reached the Jones Mansion, she was met by none other than Willy. He was seated on one of the sofa with Nina’s hands on his shoulder. He was wearing a perfect fitting black suit and he just sat like a king emanating a powerful aura on his personality.
• The scene surprised her so much because she wasn’t even aware that the two knew each other. Willy just stared at her with a suspicious look and turned his attention back to Nina. Alex and Ruth were all smiles as they entertained their guest and didn’t seem to acknowledge her presence. So she just found a chair and sat herself on the far end of the corner as she didn’t want to disturb the happy family reunion.
• “Sally, have you met my boyfriend? His name is Willy Logan.”
• “Willy pleasure to meet you” she reached out her hands for him to shake but he held on for a little too long as he looked directly into her eyes until Nina snatched his hands away.
• “That is enough sister, you don’t want to hold on for too long”
• “Yeah, I think I have something to do, I will be right back.” she wanted to clear her confusing thoughts. For starters, if Willy is Nina’s boyfriend then why did he go ahead and marry her? It meant that when they divorce after 6 months he will go and marry her sister. Anyway she didn’t care anymore, as long as he starts her the business as he promised.
• Sally was standing on the back yard garden with a sad look on her face, she couldn’t accept it that every time it was Nina that always wins and she ends up being the loser. She was tired and couldn’t help breaking down in tears. In the garden she was all alone and nobody would know that she had been crying.
• When will all this end? Am I destined to be sad for the rest of my life? All I ever wanted was a family who I can love me back. Oh God please have mercy on me.
• She needed to talk to someone so she can let out all the things that were constantly squeezing her already weak and vulnerable heart. The only problem is that she didn’t have friends at all, Nina made sure to scare all the girls ready to befriend her. She only had her mother who was now far away.
• Suddenly she felt some one pulling her wrist so tightly it broke away his thoughts. She turned abruptly and looked in to the same eyes that wouldn’t leave her in peace. They were so fiery and dark with hate and she wondered what crime she had committed this time.
• “Ouch it hurts, what is wrong with you Willy?
• “I ask the questions, what are you doing here? Are you by any chance following me around? Then he paused for a while before continuing” by the way are you going crazy? Why are you here talking alone by yourself? It seems that is your part time hobby. Any way I don’t care.”
• She was so much consumed in her sadness that she didn’t realize that she was talking aloud. Just the same thing she did when they first met.
• “Let go you jerk this is my house and they are my adopted family. I came because Nina invited me to come and see her boyfriend and well when I reached it turns out that you are the famous boyfriend. How is that my fault now? Tell me, do you always have to blame me for everything that you don’t like? Please I am in no mood for your nonsense.”
• How dare this woman talk to him like that…..He was the most feared of all in the city and he didn’t waste time to kill just anybody who dared defy him. This woman………This little lamb. Why the hell did he just say that? The little lamb was the innocent woman he slept with on that fateful night and it wasn’t this stupid shameless woman in front of him now. It was Nina Jones
• Of course he knew from his investigation that she was raised by Alex Jones, but she had to just appear at the moment that he had gone to visit the woman who saved his life.
• “So you know, she is the woman I want to marry.”
• Right then she heard Nina calling Willy, she knew that she will be in trouble if she didn’t disappear at once. The crazy girl will start shouting and acting pitiful but she wasn’t ready for the show.
