Chapter 6

• Amber Hayes was the mistress of Mathew Logan, a wealthy business man in the city of Nairobi. His first wife had 2 sons and they grew up as spoiled and only cared about the good life. When Mathew saw this he knew that his business empire was going to be destroyed so he seduced a young and beautiful woman and got her pregnant.
• After nine months of pregnancy she discovered the whole truth about the man that she truly loved and everything came down crashing on her. She gave birth soon after but the first wife and her children wouldn’t let her have peace. They wanted her dead at any cost, after she was tired of running she finally came to a decision that she was going to check herself in a mental facility and pretend that she was crazy and indeed the plan worked so well for several years.
• They couldn’t touch her son because their father forbade them. He was grooming him to be the next CEO of his multi billion business. Amber never wanted her son to turn out to be the most heartless and evil person in the city but she knew that it was her fault in the first place for becoming involved with the forbidden man. That is the reason why when she saw the innocence in Sally, she knew at once that she was the perfect redemption that her son needed
• Amber also came from a simple back ground and that is why she kind of got so attached to Sally. She understood where she was coming from.
• However now that her time was up, she needed to disappear and change her identity to avoid being murdered by her crazy step sons. They got to know that she had been pretending all along and now they were coming for her.
• “Mom you forced her on me and I am trying my best, but it is not easy at all. Can we just get back to the way we were before all this? Come on I only have a few months to spend with you.”
• “As long as you treat her well I won’t have any problem my son. You know I love you so much and everything I do is only for your sake. I want you to have a good life than mine.” Tears of sadness rolled down her cheeks as she looked at her son with love. She surely will miss him for the rest of her life.”
• “Don’t cry Mom, I will make sure to communicate with you as often as I can.”
• “That won’t be necessary, they will track me and come kill me. Then what we have been fighting for so long will have gone to waste. Just promise me that you will take very good care of her when I leave.”
• “I promise”
• Just then his cell phone rang and he excused himself to go pick it outside, he didn’t want her mother to hear the details of her conversation. She will end up scolding him even more.
• “Nina, how can I help you?”
• “You promised to come to the house later in the evening to discuss about our marriage. I miss you so much darling.” To her Willy was her dream man and since she wanted to marry him with all her might she knew that he wouldn’t accept her being that she wasn’t a virgin any more.
• So her parents arranged for Sally to sleep with him and pretend that it was Nina who saved his life. With the facts Willy knew that he owed the girl for giving her first time to be able to save him. He didn’t really like her but he promised to marry her as a payment for her kind heart.
• “I am not free right now. Can we talk about this some other time?” he said coldly
• “But at least promise me that you will come.”
• “Woman I already said that I am busy. I am not coming.” And the phone went dead.
• “So rude” Nina shouted and smashed the phone on the floor in to several pieces. Why did the man refuse to come? She knew he never liked her but why? She was very beautiful.
• He finally remembered that Sally was waiting for him in the car, but when he looked at the passenger’s seat she was soundly asleep and snoring in a broad day light. He didn’t know why but he didn’t even get angry by the strange voice she was making in his car.
• If it was another woman he would have dragged her out of the car by now. But this woman was different. He climbed on the driver’s seat and felt an urge to put on her seatbelts but then he couldn’t stop his eyes from watching her beautiful angelic face and how her chest moved by her even breathing.
• As much as he didn’t want to accept it the woman was breathtakingly gorgeous, she just needed a little polish and she will be a queen. What was he doing lusting after the unworthy woman? The fact is that he didn’t like her and that was final. He is only doing this for the sake of his mother.
• He hurriedly put on her seat belt and she didn’t even notice as she continued sleeping. Sally didn’t know how long she was a sleep but suddenly something was moving and it came to a halt at once.
• “Sally wake up we are here.” She heard his deep voice.
• “Where?” As soon as she asked, she was met by a dark stare and she had no option but to look outside the window. On realization that they had come to collect their marriage certificate, she slowly climbed out of the car and followed him towards the bureau office.
• They filled their personal details on the forms as required and stood waiting on the line for their turn to come. Once the couple that came before them finished, they walked in to the room and the person in charge officiated them and finally gave them the certificates.
• On their way out they took the first photo as a legal wife and husband. Each one of them didn’t want to be near the other and it looked like they were in a funeral rather than a newly married couple.
• “Could you please come close together a bit and smile” the photographer asked.
• “Take the fucking photo and go away” Willy snarled and the man complied. He had never seen such a sad couples in the entire years he had been in the business, and the man didn’t give him a good vibe at all. He just had to make sure to finish with them before he finds himself in trouble.
• After the ceremony, Sally talked for the first time.
• “I have something to take care of. So I would like to take my leave .I will come later to be with your mother.”
• “As you wish.” He said without even sparing her a look.
• “Dan, drive back to the mansion” he instructed his assistant who accompanied them.
• The car suddenly passed beside her and unfortunately there was water accumulated on the side of the road so it splashed on her dress. It wasn’t bad that her dress was cheap, but that was the only good dress she could afford right now. When she fled away from Willy the other day from the club, she noticed some cash stuck on her body so she had to choose between eating and buying a dress.
• Of course she was not going to walk on the streets with a man’s coat on her shoulder and a short dress that exposed her body shamelessly. So she decided to buy a cheap dress and made sure to throw the jerks coat in the dust bin because that was the only way she was going to calm down from the pain she was feeling.
• But now the dress was soaking wet and she didn’t have another one to change, she decided to go to the amusement park to sit on the sun until it dries only then will she go to the hospital to get herself checked up.
• Her heart was filled with heaviness as she waited nervously for her turn with the doctor. The entire time that she had been seated there, she noticed several women walking in and out in their huge pregnant belly and she couldn’t imagine that very soon she will possibly be the same.
• “Sally Foster” she heard her name being called.
• The doctor gave her a test strip which she was supposed to give her urine as a sample to be used for the test. After some minutes the doctor came back with a positive test results and announced to her that she was indeed pregnant.
• “No I can’t be” she said tears rolling down her cheeks. Her baby must be the most unlucky one in the world for being conceived by a stranger and now she was forcefully married to another jerk who will not hesitate to kill her when he discovered the fact that she was already pregnant with another man’s baby.
• How will she explain this to him? Will he understand that it wasn’t her fault and that she is not a slut as he usually refers her to? How about Aunty Amber? Will she ever forgive her and the most important of them all was her mother who has really suffered for her to have the best in life.
• The community will also judge her but that was the least of her concerns as she still had to deal with a lot of problems. This was a moment in her life that she will have to be strong and the baby that was growing inside her will be her biggest source of inspiration.
• “You could abort it if you don’t want the baby.”
• “Next” the doctor called and she immediately left very sure that she will not want to get rid of the baby. One thing she knew from the bottom of her heart was that the child will mean so much to her because it was her own flesh and blood. For this simple fact she didn’t want to kill it.
• She will never have to be alone once the baby was born. She subconsciously caressed her still flat stomach and imagined the child who was growing inside of her. Will the child be ugly or pretty? Well it will all depends on the fathers look. It’s a pity she didn’t even know how he looked like.
• One woman was passing by when she noticed her seated on the chair and a distance look on her face. She couldn’t help but try to cheer her up.
• “The child will be your source of happiness. When he/she will be born you wouldn’t want to be away from it. Just be thrilled with the news, so many people are looking for this opportunity and they are unable to have it because of one or two things”
• “Thank you so much for those wonderful words that you have said to me?” She replied.
• “Call me Mira”
• “Pleasure to meet you, I am Sally” She held her hand out to her and the two women just looked at each other with interests.
• “Okay, I have to leave. See you around.”
• Sally said as she stood up. She still had some money left after paying for the hospital consultation and she needed to go at her former house to see if it was still vacant so she can pay the rest of the money as rent.
• However first she decided to go to the nearby restaurant and eat something. She was hungry and her stomach was growling. She felt she can eat a whole cow if given a chance and resources.
• Soon she was eating a plateful of rice and beef which was her favourite. However, before she finished eating the food she suddenly saw a familiar person on the exit of the restaurant and started wondering what he wanted.
• She had the desire to hide and run away but if Willy sent his assistant here, it meant that something important has come up and she didn’t want to betray him again. She had promised that she won’t play dirty any more.
