Chapter 76 A Trip

• "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." I tried apologizing, but she stopped me. "It's okay," she said with a weak smile and sat back on the bed. I watched her wipe away some droplets of tears from her eyes and went into deep thoughts. "What are you thinking?" I asked, and she didn't respond immediately. Instead, she stood up and stared outside the window for a while before turning to hold my gaze.
• "I want to forgive you," she paused and sucked a deep breath. "But it's going to take a lot of time..." I did not let her finish her words before speaking. "I will wait even if it takes eternity." I spoke truthfully and saw her nod before walking up to me. She flashed me a warm smile and returned to the bed. She sat and held my gaze, and none of us said a word until I decided to speak.
