I didn't respond, choosing instead to focus on Tony, who met my gaze with a dumbfounded expression after I hit him. “Come over here, Beatrice,” I said, gesturing for her to approach. She did so with tears in her eyes, and I could sense her gratitude. “I know everything that's been happening with Tony and how he's been harassing you. But don't worry, I'll make things right.”
