Chapter 42 He Knew It

• “Juliet?” Juliet, Emily's former co-worker at the bar, called her for help. Juliet's mother was sick and she was at the hospital with her. She had already called the manager to ask for someone to fill in for her, but he threatened to fire her if she couldn't find a replacement. Emily was the only person she could think of to help her out.
• Emily was taken aback by Juliet's call. She had left the bar, bound by her contract with Charles. But Juliet's tearful plea tugged at her heartstrings, and she found herself making a promise she wasn't sure she could keep.
