Chapter 22 A Slight Moment
- During the two days that Evangeline was hospitalized, Jasper Kent took care of Cody. Emilia couldn't take too long off, so she left Cody with Jasper.
- "Don't worry, I'll take care of him," Jasper said reassuringly. Jasper smiled kindly, and Emilia easily trusted him.
- "Cody can't go to school because Eva is still in the hospital," replied Emilia, smiling. Jasper nodded in understanding, then smiled again.
