Miranda remained before him, her stance protective, yet her eyes held a flicker of allegation as though trying him to face reality. The words balanced weighty on the incline of his lips, a whirlwind of feelings blending inside him.
• Miranda's voice slice through the strain, her words a combination of rebellion and harshness. "Try not to act so astounded, Jason," she answered, her voice touched with hatred. "You've left me desolate for a really long time. You never contacted me, never caused me to feel needed. I'm a lady with wants and needs, as well."
• Jason's demeanor stayed a combination of incredulity and calm outrage. "Well you didn't merit that did you? You behaved like you were my mate to befuddle my feelings and my wolf feelings when you were not. Disgrace your sister passed on however you are something, Miranda."
