Chapter 8 ) Hard To Believe The Truth

• “We last saw each other five years ago? But I don't even know you or them”. Vivianne admitted with her hands wrapped on her chest.
• After hearing what Vivianne had said, Brianna, Lucy, and Victor almost ended up laughing, because they actually thought that Vivianne was pretending not to know them anymore. After all, they treated her so badly in the past.
• “Vivianne, everything that happened in the past was just a tough misunderstanding, and we can't change any of that. But you pretending not to know us, is clearly not cool”. “Don't you agree, Vivianne?”. Brianna purposely added.
• “What are you even babbling about, young lady?”. Vivianne frowned her face at Brianna as she questioned her. Honestly, everything Brianna was saying was not making any sense to her.
• “Enough pretending, Vivianne. Don't attack Brianna because of your jealousy. I know that you still have a grudge against Brianna because my son divorced you and married her five years ago. But you should know that your marriage with my Kendrick was just an arranged marriage set by grandpa Harrington, and nothing special”. Lucy hissed as she announced, but her words only confused Vivianne even more.
• Vivianne didn't understand a thing that was going on. In fact, she massaged her forehead for a few seconds, before she glared at Lucy without fear, and said to her, “Madam, what are you guys even talking about? So you mean I was once married to your son and was later divorced by him? How's that even making any sense here? Plus, I don't personally know you people. Why don't you people understand that?”.
• “Vivianne! Stop this insolent behaviour of yours at once! How dare you pretend not to know us? I mean, you've been living with our family ever since your own family died!”. Lucy announced and gritted her teeth, because she was annoyed with Vivianne.
• Barrett and Garrett had been patiently observing everything that was happening. Plus, it was actually at this moment that they both stepped in and involved themselves in the talk,
• “Sorry to interrupt, but after Garrett and I found our little sister five years ago, she had already lost her memories”. Barrett explained with an aloof voice.
• After what just happened, Barrett and Garrett were convinced that Vivianne had been living with the Harrington family in the past, before they actually found her five years ago.
• Not only that, with the way Lucy and Brianna behaved right here, and because of their (The twins) great insights, Barrett and Garrett now understood that it was the Harrington family who mistreated their little sister. No wonder Vivianne's feelings acted up and were strangely against the Harrington family.
• “Barrett is right. Our little sister lost almost all her memories five years ago. And it's best if you guys don't talk about the past to her”. Garrett also announced with an aloof voice and a straight face.
• Even after hearing Barrett's and Garrett's explanation, Lucy, Brianna and Victor still refused to believe that Vivianne had lost most of her memories.
• “I apologise. But since you Harrington family refuse to believe me, my siblings and I will excuse ourselves from your presence”. Barrett declared. In fact, he didn't even wait for them to reply to him, and he took Vivianne and Garrett away with him.
• After Vivianne and her brothers left, Lucy was so angry that she left the banquet hall as fast as she could. Brianna also left the banquet hall with her son, Harry. Honestly, Brianna really didn't want to leave, but she had to, since she wanted to be supportive of her mother-in-law's actions.
• Victor Harrington didn't leave with his wife. There were many potential CEOs in the banquet hall, and he wanted to at least have a discussion with most of them. To be fair, Victor was too proud to believe that he was no longer needed at the ‘Harrington Supreme Company’.

• The welcoming party celebration went on for just a few hours, until it eventually ended with success.
• As the hostess of the celebration, Vivianne raised her glass in a toast to everyone who attended her welcoming party celebration. After Vivianne's toast to everyone, that was when the welcoming party celebration officially ended, and everyone left.
• “Wow. Being a hostess is definitely hard work. Seriously, my lips are hurting from talking too much”. Vivianne admitted and pouted her lips afterward, causing Barrett and Garrett, who were both standing at her sides, to laugh at her.
• “This is absolutely nothing, little sis. You'd eventually talk a lot and think a lot after you begin your work as the chairman of Z-company”. Garrett ruffled Vivianne's hair after saying this to her.
• Garrett's words only caused Vivianne to pout her lips even more. “Tsk, I didn't know all this was hard work. But no worries, Big Brother Garrett. I'm definitely up for the challenge. I bet you'd open your mouth in disbelief after my Z-company eventually rises to the top”. Vivianne announced, and was filled with confidence.
• After hearing Vivianne's announcement, a grin suddenly appeared on Garrett's striking handsome face, as he replied to her, “I like your enthusiasm, my dear little sis. And I can't wait for your company to rise to the top. If that eventually happens, I'd shave my hair for you”. After teasing Vivianne, Garrett ended up laughing at his own joke.
• While Garrett and Vivianne were busy having a discussion of their own, Barrett was preoccupied with his thoughts, ‘So after that tragic incident happened to our family, the Harrington family took in Vivianne? Additionally, grandpa Harrington made Kendrick marry Vivianne through an arranged marriage. Not only that, Kendrick later divorced Vivianne and married Brianna, who now has a son for him. And from the look of things, the Harrington family clearly mistreated Vivianne in the past! No wonder Vivianne said those strange words at the airport. Gosh! This is totally unacceptable! How dare those Harrington families do this to my little sister?!’.
• “Big brother Barrett, are you alright?”. Vivianne stopped talking with Garrett and asked Barrett, after she noticed that something was off somewhere with him.
• “I'm sincerely not alright, little sis”. Barrett was honest with his reply, since he didn't want to hide anything from his family.
• After hearing Barrett's reply to her question, Vivianne faced him and her pair of brown eyes were staring at him with great concern. “Why are you not alright, Big Brother Barrett? Are you hurt anywhere?”. Vivianne asked with concern. Honestly, even before Barrett replied to her, she went ahead to check his body for any physical injuries.
• “I'm not physically hurt, little sis. Rather, I'm mentally hurt”. Barrett announced, and after seeing the confused look on Vivianne's face, he began to explain, “I just discovered that you had been living with the Harrington family ever since those tragic incidents happened to our family. Not only that, I also discovered that they mistreated you. No wonder you strangely felt hurt at the airport”.
• “Yeah, I also discovered that, Barrett. But the marriage and divorce part Lucy Harrington talked about, I just don't want to believe it”. Garrett immediately added, and waited to hear what Vivianne would say.
• Vivianne's face suddenly darkened before she began to chuckle so loudly like a maniac.
• Vivianne's loud laughter surprised both Barrett and Garrett, because they couldn't understand why she was laughing all of a sudden.
• “Big brothers, I wanted to tell you guys the good news after we return home, but anyway, I'd just say it right here and right now”. Vivianne announced after she stopped laughing. Soon, she furrowed her eyebrows as she said, “A few hours ago, after I met the Harrington family, some of my lost memories strangely came back to me. Actually, I clearly remember the way they treated me so badly in the past. It was just like yesterday to me”.
• “You recalled some of your memories, little sis? That's good news. But, how dare the Harrington family do this to you? Wasn't our grandpa and their grandpa tight friends?!”. Garrett announced and was fuming with anger.
• “Understand this, big brothers. The Harrington family, including Brianna, treated me so badly. As for grandpa Harrington, he was like my guardian, who treated me with great love”. Vivianne quickly explained, and after recalling how grandpa Harrington suddenly passed away in the past, she felt hurt.
• “Wait a minute, so grandpa Harrington was good to you before he died?”. Barrett asked Vivianne, and she quickly nodded her head at him.
• Something came to Garrett's mind, and since he didn't want to forget it, he asked Vivianne in a hurry, “What about Kendrick, little sis? You also remember him, right? So, was the marriage and divorce part true?”.
