Chapter 4 ) A Visit To The Family Mansion

• Brianna dressed as fast as she could, so that she wouldn't waste Kendrick's time. She was wearing a black designer gown which was reaching her knees. Plus, she wore black heels and also put on the gown’s jacket.
• Before Brianna left the bedroom, she wore her blonde hair into a bun.
• Soon after, Brianna hurried to the living room, and a loving smile appeared on her face as she watched how the father and son were bonding with each other.
• Brianna remained standing at the corner of the stairs.
• When Kendrick's eyes eventually met with Brianna, she definitely approached him.
• “I'm done dressing, hubby”. Brianna proudly said.
• Kendrick simply nodded his head at Brianna, before he rose up from the sofa he was sitting on. He took Harry with him outside, and as he arrived outside, he gave Harry to Brianna, so that he could fully focus on driving.
• After seeing the car Kendrick decided to drive, Brianna joined him, and sat in the front passenger seat with Harry in her laps. In no time, Kendrick drove off.
• Harrington family’s mansion,
• It was a 30 minute ride, and finally, Kendrick arrived at his family mansion. He parked his car close to the rose garden, before he got down.
• Brianna also got down from the car with Harry in her arms.
• The building in front of them was huge, but it wasn't bigger than Kendrick's own mansion.
• Kendrick didn't hesitate and entered the building in front of him. Even Brianna did the same thing by entering the building.
• The living room,
• Mrs Lucy Harrington was sitting in one of the living room sofas, when she suddenly saw her son; Kendrick, approaching with his family.
• With joyfulness, Lucy immediately rose up from the seat. “You guys are here early. You didn't even inform me that you are coming. I would have totally prepared lunch in time”. Lucy admitted.
• “Don't stress yourself, mother-in-law. I'm supposed to be the one preparing the lunch”. Brianna admitted. And to fulfil what she had just said, she handed Harry over to Kendrick before she rushed to the kitchen.
• “What a nice lady. I'm so glad that you got married to her and left that jinx Vivianne”. Lucy said with a glad tone.
• “Mother, please. I've already told you not to mention Vivianne in my presence again”. Kendrick said, and although he tried to suppress his emotion in Harry's presence, his voice tone was still kinda harsh.
• “Fine. She's just a jinx after all”. Lucy scoffed as she admitted. Soon, she added, “Your father is in his study, you can go meet him there, Kendrick. As for your grandmother and cousins, they're together in the garden”.
• After hearing what his mother had said to him, Kendrick didn't bother to reply. He just made his way to his father's study.
• As soon as Lucy saw that her son had left with her grandson, she slightly shook her head and concluded, “My grandson is so adorable. I'm fortunate that Vivianne didn't give birth to Kendrick's offspring!”. After saying this, Lucy scoffed before she went to the kitchen, in order for her to assist Brianna.
• Victor's study,
• The study room was a large one. Not only that, it had many books which were neatly arranged on the shelves. Additionally, the room was a little dark in colour, but there were rays of light coming in through the windows.
• Victor was sitting on the chair, which was stationed in the front of his wooden desk. He was busy reading a documentary book when Kendrick suddenly invited himself inside his study room.
• Victor kept his documentary book aside and furrowed his eyebrows while he said to Kendrick, “Kendrick? You came here earlier than I expected. I wasn't even expecting you to come by now”.
• “I know that, but here I am”. Kendrick simply said before he left Harry to stand on his own.
• After Harry stood on his own, he excitedly walked to meet Victor, since he recognised Victor as someone close to him and his grandpa.
• Kendrick didn't bother to sit down, since he didn't come here to have a long talk with his father. Speaking of which, Kendrick's dark eyes got darker as he said to Victor, “Father, it's time for you to fully retire and leave the company. You're not in your prime anymore, and you tend to make lots of mistakes”.
• “You-!”. After hearing what Kendrick had said, Victor instantly rose up and pointed a finger against him.
• Victor's loud voice was enough to scare away Harry, who ran back to Kendrick's side.
• “I came all the way here to tell you this, Father. You should retire and at least, spend quality time with your wife”. Kendrick announced. Soon he carried Harry, and after turning his back against Victor, he concluded with a dangerous voice, “Actually, I have good news for you, Father. Even before I came here, I had already dismissed your position as the company's acting chairman”. After saying this, Kendrick left with Harry, without even bothering to look at Victor's angry face.
• Victor was so angry that it caused him to trash the books on his desk.
• He was panting really fast and soon, he ruffled his hair with his hands, and in a rough manner.
• “How dare that brat do this to me?! I'm his Father for crying out loud!!!”. Victor gritted his teeth as he yelled out in frustration.
• Because of how loud Victor's voice was, Lucy heard him from where she was.
• ‘That’s definitely honey's voice!’. Lucy thought to herself before she quickly stopped what she was doing and faced Brianna. “Brianna, my hard-working daughter-in-law. Take care of the kitchen, alright? I have to check on my husband”. Lucy said and was about to leave the kitchen. But upon hearing Brianna's voice, she halted.
• “Is anything wrong with my father-in-law, mom?”. Brianna worriedly asked, since she also heard Victor's loud voice.
• “What a caring daughter-in-law you are, Brianna! But don't worry, my husband is definitely alright. Maybe he was just overreacting”. Lucy admitted, and later on, she left the kitchen in a hurry and went straight to Victor's study room.
• Upon arriving inside her husband's study room, Lucy saw how the whole place was scattered.
• Lucy was so surprised because she didn't understand what made Victor so angry.
• Lucy made her way to where Victor was standing and said to him, “What's wrong, honey?”.
• Victor didn't even bother to reply to his wife's question, because he was preoccupied with different thoughts.
• “How dare that brat do this to me?! How dare he bite the hands that fed him!”. Victor roared in anger as he continued to trash his study room.
• Lucy couldn't stand still and watch all this madness anymore, so she ran to Victor and held him. Her actions indeed, caused Victor to stop trashing his study room.
• “Honey, tell me…. What happened? Did you and our son quarrel?”. Lucy asked with a composed voice, since she didn't want Victor to be irritated with her.
• “Kendrick, that brat! He dared to fire me from my own father's company!”. Victor gritted his teeth as he explained to Lucy. Just thinking about what Kendrick had done to him, made Victor's blood boil with anger.
• “O-ur son did what?”. Lucy said in disbelief.
• “Yes. Kendrick came all the way here, to inform me about how he had fired me from my own father's company. Obviously, he had that audacity, because he possessed most of the company's shares!”. Victor stated the true fact.
• “Unbelievable. Wait, I will go and talk to our son, honey. Just calm down”. Lucy said to Victor before she left his study room in a hurry.
• Immediately Lucy came out from Victor's study room, she began searching for Kendrick's whereabouts. To be fair, she searched every nook and cranny of the mansion, but Kendrick was nowhere to be found.
• ‘Where could Kendrick be? And is Harry with him?’. Lucy wondered before a certain thought displayed in her head, ‘I should check if Kendrick's car is still parked in the mansion’.
• Lucy didn't waste time and rushed outside. And to her surprise, her hunch was correct. Kendrick's car had already left the family mansion.
• “Kendrick! How could he leave without his wife, Brianna!?”. Lucy frowned her face because she was extremely disappointed at Kendrick. “I'll talk some sense into his head when I see him again!”. Lucy announced, before she angrily returned inside the mansion.
• ....
• Kendrick was driving his car on the roadway. He was sitting in the driver's seat, while he carried little Harry on his laps.
• “Son, we are going to my company right now”. Kendrick declared.
• “Yay! Dada and I are going to work together at the company”. Harry exclaimed, causing his dark eyes to sparkle on their own.
• The twins’ mansion,
• Barrett drove his car inside the mansion, through the large opened gates. After he had parked his car, everyone got down.
• “Wow! Big brothers, you guys bought a new mansion and didn't even bother to tell me about it?!”. Vivianne exclaimed before her matured brown eyes began to sparkle.
• “Barrett and I wanted this to be a surprise for you”. Garrett explained the situation to Vivianne with a smile, before he leaned close to her and added, “Well, do you like the mansion?”.
• “Like? I love it! It's so spacious and totally my style”. Vivianne admitted and giggled afterwards.
• “I see you two are already having fun, Garrett, Vivianne. Anyway, let's enter inside. Vivianne must be tired and hungry after experiencing a long flight”. Barrett said.
• “Sure”. Garrett and Vivianne agreed with each other, before they followed Barrett inside the mansion.
