Chapter 3

• "Oh my God." She muttered, her hands flying to her face as she caressed it softly.
• "What is this?" She looked beautiful. Too beautiful, the scars on her body had dissappeared leaving with a milky skin that looked so attractive.
• Her hands were slender, not the patched hands of an omega who work tirelessly, day and night. Her hair was black, not brown anymore, her eyeballs were emerald, not grey. She was too different to be true.
• "Who was Astrid Reed?" She turned and asked Marissa. Marissa gave her just a funny look as she said, "I see you are not healed yet."
• "I am healed. I just want to know who Astrid is? Tell me." Joey said immediately.
• "Astrid, just have a nap. You'll be totally fine after that." Marissa said seriously and stood up, closing the door tightly as she walked out of the house.
• Joey sighed as she sat down on her bed, her head trying to wrap around what had just happened. She had been pushed by Shane and was falling into the water, then she suddenly came awake. She had thought Shane had rescued her but no, she was awake in another woman's body.
• Does that mean Astrid was in her own body, flowing dead at the shore or underneath the river? And her baby, her baby would be in that body too! A wave of anger suddenly surged through her veins and she pressed her lips tightly. This was a second chance given to her by the moon goddess. This was a chance for revenge!!
• "I won't waste your body, Astrid. I promise to use it to the fullest. Thank you for this and I hope your soul rests in perfect peace until I meet you." She said, her eyes cold and filled with the desire of vengeance.
• When Joey bathed and redressed her wound, she walked out of her room with a blue flay dress. She had previously spent an hour trying to pick out a dress, having seen how magnificent Astrid's room looked like.
• "Oh my God." She gaped as she let her hand roll down the shiny handle of the stairs, as she walked down it slowly. It spaced out to a large beautiful living room and when you turned, it led into the dining room.
• Her stomach rumbled and cut short the entertainment for her eyes, only then did she realize that she had not eaten for what seemed like days....wait, what was the date today?
• "Close your mouth or a fly would slip into it." Her sister said rudely as she walked past her. Joey immediately pinned her lips together as she also walked towards the dining.
• "What's today date?"She asked.
• "You were only asleep for three days and you suddenly don't know the date?" Jacqueline eyed her slowly, not even bothering to hide to her disgust, "You have a phone, don't you?"
• "I have a phone?!!!" Joey asked in surprise, scaring the hell out of Jacqueline.
• "Of course you have a phone! Which....oops, I forgot, it got into the pool but you can buy another one, can't you? You always talked about getting top notch things." Jacqueline rolled her eyes.
• "And I have money too..." Joey chuckled happily as she stared eating, not saying another but just laughing to herself.
• "Who knew I would get all these after losing my baby?" She laughed louder as she thought in her mind, "Just you wait, Alpha Shane, I will show you the pain of losing our child. The exact same way you did to mine."
• Jacqueline just stared at her as if she had lost her mind.
• "I hope you'll be able to laugh louder by the time the Lycan King comes for you." She said, stopping Joey's laughter.
• "Did you forget you were the one that was supposed to marry him? No one can force me to do what I will not! If I refuse to marry him, then you are going to get your betrothed." This was her second chance and she wasn't going to let anyone trample her under their feet like her past life. She was going to take the reins now.
• "Ooh...." Jacqueline shook her head, "Did falling into the pool hurt your brain? Did you forget that five days ago, you signed the pact between the two packs and bestowed yourself as a bride to the Lycan Lord? You have already signed with the blood and now, you think you going to return him? Impossible!" She shot.
• Joey didn't realize she had signed a pact but in that moment, the memories of Astrid rushed in and she gasped, remembering everything that happened that day.
• "Oh...shit!" She muttered, biting her lips.
• "I don't know what's going to happen when the Lycan Lord finds out that you are pregnant with Alpha Shane's child. You could be hanged in their clan for all I know."
• "Are you dumb? You don't really believe that's real, do you?" Joey didn't even glance at her as she ate hurriedly but in a mannerless way which was unlike Astrid who was quite a sophisticated woman.
• "Whatever. Mum and Dad had already called the pack's doctor to test you, they wouldn't want you to embarrass them that day."
• "Wouldn't that mean they have to sacrifice you, their sweet daughter?" Joey explained to her, "I don't see why you should be happy about the fact that I'm pregnant when it's going to be your loss."
• Jacqueline wanted to retort but when she realized Astrid's words were true, she angrily went quiet and stood up from the dining chair, a blazing look in her eyes.
• At that moment, Keith and his wife walked in with another woman Joey didn't recognize.
• "Dad!" Jacqueline immediately had a sour look on her face as she rushed to Keith, holding his hand tightly.
• Joey didn't look bothered by their entry as she continued eating her food in mannerless way. From the show inside, it was sure these parents had shown favoritism among their children and unfortunately, she...no, Astrid was the one that had the bad part. She... had inherited it now, but she would show them...that no one could treat her like trash anymore, not after what she had been through!
• "Astrid, come over here. We need to test you." Keith's voice was powerful as he glared at her.
• "Don't you see the way she's eating? It must be true that she is pregnant!" Her mother said and Joey rolled her eyes secretly. Yes, she had been pregnant but now she's lost it. She's only eating madly because she's hungry, nothing more. But she wouldn't let them know that. Marriage was out of her plan and nobody could force her into it, never!
• "Of course. Mother is right. I'm really pregnant. Can't you see how big my tummy is?" She patted her full tummy, which was, however, still very tiny and flat. Turned out Astrid had worked out a lot to keep her shape. How else could a wolf's tummy be this flat?
• "I knew it!"
• "Luna, I would advise you to wait and let us test her. She eating a lot may mean that she is still sick." The doctor said and Joey sneered. Was this woman was about to wreck her plan?
• "I'm a doctor myself and I can feel it when my baby kicks. Go ahead, call Alpha Shane, tell him Joey is alive and see if he'll prove you wrong!" Joey said bravely but regretted it instantly when the door suddenly opened and a huge man with a mask stepped in.
• No soothsayer had to tell her who it was, she could feel it from the aura that immediately took over the room. Everyone went quiet immediately, including her sister who was usually so nosy. It proved further how powerful this Lycan Lord was. Of course, he was powerful!
• He was the Lycan Lord that ruled the strongest pack that every other pack bowed to.... The Night Shade Clan! And she was about to become his Luna.
• "Dare to repeat that?" His cold husky voice came asking and Joey immediately melted in her seat.
