Chapter 2

• "Mom!!!!!!!"
• "Save me, Mom!!!!"
• Her eyes opened sharply in one go and she took a very deep breath as she sat up on the bed, her hand on her chest.
• The pain was sharp, but it wasn't physical, it was emotional. This was the cry of her baby, asking her to save him or her.
• If it was a 'him', he was supposed to look like Shane for he was the most handsome 'thing' in her eyes.
• And if it was a 'she', she was supposed to look like Joey for Shane had said she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met.
• She blinked, her eyes welling up as she remembered the same Alpha who had promised her heaven and earth was the same person who pushed her into the endless stream of water.
• Her brain suddenly clicked and immediately she realized that she wasn't falling.....or drowning....or doing anything, as a matter of fact.
• She was sitting on a large queen sized bed, in a white and pink room. A white and pink.... large... beautiful..room.
• "Where am I?" Joey's voice came out and she realized her voice doesn't sound like this...it never did. This was the voice of a sophisticated, calm lady.
• "What's going on?" Her face was already in horror as she stared at herself. Her skin never glowed like that. Her skin always had red spots on them, scars that never healed from the beatings she received, her palms were always rough from working very hard, but all that was gone now and this time around, she was spotless, her skin as clear as oil.
• The door opened and an elderly woman walked in, her eyes lighting up the moment she saw her.
• "Astrid!!" The woman who Joey didn't know rushed towards her and hugged her affectionately. Joey's body stiffed up immediately as her hands started patting and touching her.
• "You are awake. Do you know how scared I was to hear you stabbed yourself and jumped into a pool?" The woman's face looked very teary but Joey couldn't care about that right now.
• Stab herself and jump into a pool?
• Was she crazy?
• Why would she stab herself? When she had a baby in her womb?
• And then, jump into a pool? She couldn't swim!
• "I never stabbed my..."
• "Astrid!!!!" Someone else gasped from the open door and rushed into the room, the same way the first lady came in.
• 'What's going on?' Joey thought in her head. 'Why is everyone screaming Astrid and running towards me?' She thought again.
• She could see the older woman shift towards her consciously before the younger lady could come forward. The younger lady didn't care but instead rushed outside again.
• "Mom, Dad!!!! Astrid is awake!!" Joey could hear her scream out in a very tiny voice.
• "Something tells me it was Jacqueline who pushed you into the pool." The older woman said, scrunching her face.
• "I know you are capable of stabbing yourself to show your determination, but jumping into the water, you would never do that!" The woman said.
• "Exactly. I would never do that. I don't know how to swim, why would I jump into the water? And also you were wrong. Stab myself? I would do no crazy thing! The truth is that it was Alpha Shane who..."
• "You don't know how to swim?" The older woman interrupted and Joey blinked.
• "Of course, I don't know how to swim." She looked confused as she said those words.
• "But, Astrid, you bagged the award for the best swimmer in your middle school. You just stopped swimming due to your trauma which came in highschool." The older woman said and sighed slowly, patting her hand.
• "The doctor said you might forget somethings when you woke up. Your trauma is pretty bad." She added.
• Joey wanted to shake her head and say no, she didn't have a trauma. All that happened, was that she didn't have time to learn how to swim, that she didn't stab herself and that she doesn't understand what is actually going on, but before she could speak.....
• "Astrid!!!" Came again, the Astrid this, Astrid that! What exactly was going on?
• Another woman walked into the room, a man accompanying her and then that young girl. This was probably her mom and dad as she had screamed for their attention. The younger girl's name was Jacqueline, she only needed to figure the rest of them names now.
• "Astrid, I understand you don't want to get married to the Lycan Lord, but how could you stab yourself and jump into the pool. What do you expect would happen to your sister?" The man asked, touching Jacqueline's shoulder lightly.
• Wait! Jacqueline was her sister? And she was supposed to get married to the Lycan Lord? What exactly was going on? Something was wrong, somewhere.
• "Yes, Astrid. We love you so much as our child but you see, we can't let little Jacqueline go into the hands of that monster." The woman came closer.
• "So I'm supposed to go into the hands of the monster?" Joey suddenly shot. Oops, she didn't know when that came out. What is going on?
• "Astrid..." The woman tried to touch her but Joey jumped down from the bed immediately.
• "I'm not Astrid!" She fired before anyone could say anything else.
• "Look at me. I am not Astrid, okay? My name is Joey- Joey Simmons. I'm from the Shadow Brook Tribe. I don't have a sister and I don't have parents, okay? I am not getting married to anyone and if I am, that's Alpha Shane."
• A sudden gasp escaped everyone's lips as she blurted out the words.
• "Astrid....what are you saying?" The older woman who had been with her said. Joey didn't care less about their expressions.
• "Look, I am pregnant. I'm pregnant for Alpha Shane. We are supposed to get married. I knew he couldn't kill me and was just pulling a prank.." A slap disrupted her conversation and she gasped, feeling the hot heat spread round her body.
• The man who was supposed to be her father had just slapped her hardly. As she felt the hotness of that hit, she felt another one rise from her stomach.
• "Shut it, you brat. What Joey Simmons! Can you even hear yourself?" The man asked, looking enraged.
• "And this would be the last time you mention Alpha Shane's name in this house!" He shot angrily before leaving the room.
• Her mom shook her head slowly as she came forward, "I really hope you are not pregnant. I mean, how could you even get pregnant for Alpha Shane of all people?" She asked with a disgusted look on her face, before walking out with her husband.
• This time around, Jacqueline walked closer and took Joey's palm in her hands.
• "Sis, your name is Astrid Reed, not Joey Simmons. You are from the Raven's Paw Pack, not the Shadow Brook's Tribe. You are the first daughter of Alpha Keith Reed of the Raven's Paw Pack. Are you sure you are alright, Astrid?" Jacqueline definitely looked very concerned but Joey didn't miss the sarcasm and mockery in her voice. It had happened to her a lot of times, when people bullied her.
• "You need to rest, you look disorganized. Marissa, please take care of her." She added when she didn't get a reply and then left, closing the door behind her.
• Joey blinked as she turned to look at the older woman who had a soft and pitiful look displaying on her face. Her name was Marissa. The man's name was Keith.... It suddenly clicked and almost immediately Joey blinked, rushing to the floor to wall mirror that was at the other side of the room.
• "Oh my God." She muttered, touching her face. This wasn't her. This couldn't be her. This was Astrid Reed, the first daughter of the Raven's Paw Pack's Alpha.
• The Raven's Paw Pack. This was the pack that always fought against theirs, Shadowbrook Tribe. They were enemies, enemies that didn't mix no matter what.
• Then what was Joey doing inside Astrid's body?
• It suddenly hit her, the realization.
• She had been given a second chance. She had been reincarnated!
