• Ava felt her anger and frustration melting away as she was enveloped in his embrace. She couldn't deny the way his arms felt around her, and she found herself leaning into him. She felt her struggles losing and her anger slowly dissipating.
• Bruce, I appreciate the apology, but I need some space," she said, looking him in the eyes. "I can't just forget what happened between us, so don't ever think you can waltz your way back into my life ever again, it's already over between us."
• Bruce nodded, understanding her need for space. "I understand, Ava. I'll give you all the space you need. But please know that I'm here for you, whenever you're ready to talk."
