Chapter 17

• As time passed and Ava didn't hear from Bruce, she became increasingly worried. She couldn't understand why he would disappear like this, especially since they were expecting a baby together.
• At first, Ava tried to convince herself that maybe he was just busy or had a family emergency. But as the days turned into weeks, her hope began to fade. She started to think about all the things that could have gone wrong but there was no clue whatsoever about what might have caused him to act that way except for the fact that she got pregnant.
• Over the next few days, Ava didn't hear from Bruce at all. He didn't respond to her texts or calls, and he didn't show up to work. She didn't know what was going on, but she knew that she needed to talk to him. She tried to visit his house, but she realised that she didn't know where he lived. She didn't know how to find him or how to get in touch with him.
