Chapter 4
- It’s Friday morning and Emerald is lying on her bed, drooling and snoring.
- Suddenly she rose and gasped
- “Oh my God!!”
- She rushed out of bed and rushed to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and hurriedly took a bath. She came out of the bathroom, rushed to her dressing room, and started ransacking everything.
- “What am I gonna wear? I should wear something that says ‘Oh I’m pretty and unbothered’ she demonstrated with a smirk
- She ransacked more and finally saw a lilac shirt “perfect” She chose a pair of Jean trousers and a pair of black sandals. She got ready and tied her hair up while hurriedly sipping a cup of tea.
- After dressing up, she looked in the mirror and paused
- “ why am I even rushing? it’s not like I’m eager to go on a date with him, he's literally forcing me to marry him. I hate him, he sucks. I’ll just go there and give him a piece of my mind, I’ll ask him to call off the wedding” she exhaled
- She was still ranting to herself when suddenly she heard a car honk outside. She looked out her window and saw a tall man waiting outside the car
- “Oh, that’s the creepy assistant. He’s ugly” Emerald scoffed She looked at her mirror one more time and walked downstairs
- As she was about to go out of the house, Capri appeared from nowhere and blocked the way
- “Where are you going?” Capri asked
- “Out” Emerald replied
- “Out where” Capri snarled
- “Am I obligated to tell you” Emerald stood her ground
- “Listen to me you twine, Williams should be mine and I won’t let you have him. Not even Dad can stop me from having him” Capri hissed at Emerald
- “ Capri I’m not interested in your so called Mr. Williams okay, please get out of my way" Emerald walked past her and slammed the door.

- “ Miss, the boss asked me to bring you to that tea shop across the road” Zach said to Emerald politely
- “What happened to ‘anywhere you want to go?’” Emerald muttered to herself as she got into the car
- ---
- Zach drove her down to the tea shop and parked
- “Miss, we’re here”
- “. Thank you” she replied
- Emerald inhaled sharply and exhaled, calming her nerves. She went into the shop. She looked around searching for the person she was supposed to meet.
- Williams who saw her entering, stared at her as her eyes were searching for him raised his hand so she could see him.
- As she saw him, She just stood there staring, this man, he looked so handsome in casual clothes, he looked so fresh and calm. Emerald’s heart skipped a tiny bit.
- She walked up to him and sat opposite him.
- “Hi” Williams greeted
- “Hi”
- “You look good” William said again
- “Thank you” Emerald replied “You don’t look bad yourself “
- “What do you want to order” Williams asked her
- “Anything” Emerald replied, trying her best to look reluctant.
- Williams called the waiter and placed an order
- 'Why isn't this man concerned? Why is he acting like everything is normal?' Emerald felt pissed as she thought
- There was silence as they both waited for their drinks. Emerald avoided eye contact but she could feel Williams's hot gaze on her.
- The order finally came, Emerald thanked her stars because the awkwardness was choking her. She raised her glass, the drink was purple 'Weird’ she thought. She took a sip and was shocked. The drink tasted heavenly
- “What is this” she asked Williams
- “Not to brag but I invented that, it’s made with lavender” Williams said in a proud manner
- “You’re already bragging” Emerald rolled her eyes as she continued sipping the drink ‘Mehn, this drink bangs’
- All of a sudden, Williams asked a question that made Emerald almost choke on her drink.
- “Can I have your phone number?”
- Emerald coughed so hard and looked up at him
- “What?”
- “ your phone number. Can I have it?”
- “Why?”
- “Well I figured since we are getting married, we should at least get to know each other, and this is the first step” Williams said authoritatively.
- “Uhm.. I…um... why should I give you my phone number?, you're literally forcing me to marry you, I'm concerned about my life and you're concerned about getting my number?" Emerald said with a fierce look
- Williams stared at her with an unwavering gaze, he exhaled and brought his drink to his mouth, took a sip, and finally said "I just want your phone number it's not like I'm gonna eat you"
- He brought out his phone and gave it to her
- “Just Input your phone number” he said in a stiff manner
- Emerald was dumbfounded. She scoffed and laughed
- "Who do you think you are?" You sneered at him
- The stiffness in Williams's eyes suddenly dissipated
- He looked around as if trying to see if anyone was staring at them before he said
- "Okay, I'm not really good at this but...can you please give me your phone number? At least let me be able to reach you?"
- Is that the reason he asked her out on a date? Just to get her phone number?
- Emerald looked at him, he looked like some baby that lost their candy, she suddenly felt sorry for him.
- She picked up his phone and imputed her phone number, she dropped the phone on the table and turned her face away
- “ how about I drive you home?” Williams asked, staring at her
- “Uhm… yeah .. sure” she replied with her face still turned
- They headed to the car, Zach was standing there, waiting.
- “Let me have the keys Zach” Williams said to his assistant.
- “But boss…”. Williams gave him a deadly stare
- “Yes boss” Zach said immediately and handed over the keys
- As they drove home, the air in the car was so tense that Emerald began to sweat with an air conditioner on.
- Williams had casual clothes on which made him look handsome but unapproachable at the same time. His domineering expression made him even more hot in the driver's seat.
- She finally summoned the courage to ask
- “What about your assistant”
- “He can get a bus” Williams replied unbothered
- 'At least you should care about people, not treat them like trash' Emerald thought to herself
- "So I heard you're into digital designing". Williams suddenly spoke
- Emerald glanced at him and replied. "Yes I am"
- Williams didn't say anything after that, which was awkward
- 'Jeez, does he even know how to hold a conversation?'
