Chapter 8

• “A man is walking in the vast desert. He is walking there for days, non stop. He is the last man of his bloodline. His people are dead by the barbarians called the Smaudlun. He wants to take revenge, even though he has nothing that would give him the victory he needs. 
• He meets a dragon, being chained down. It seems the dragon was tortured and has no willingness to live. 
• The man asked help but the dragon looked down on him, thinking he is better than human kind. 
• The man insisted to help the dragon. They both lost their kind in the hands of the Smaudlun. 
• As the man was trying to help the dragon, he tried to burn him. It seems the man was blessed with determination that would manifest in great resistance to pain. 
• The dragon felt sorry for the man and for burning him cause even after that, he still tried to free him. 
• The dragon was mesmerized by the diamond blue eyes of the man. He had never seen eyes like this. It felt they hold the wishes of the Gods. And that was true as the dragon has a vision.
• Unfortunately, the man was caught by the barbarians and they took him to their leader. 
• He threw the man inside a pit with monsters.
• The man survived.
• He threw his best men inside.
• The man killed them. 
• The leader being furious of this man, went to kill him himself. 
• The man took him too. 
• The man was injured. Limping, he went to free the dragon. The Smaudlun came to see who killed their leader. 
• The man was dying and couldn’t defend himself. 
• ‘My duty is over’. 
• The dragon found a reason to live once more and burned the Smaudlun to the ground. He looked at the man’s eyes and made a vow;
• ‘You won’t burn by my fire. My fire will heal you, my fire will make your stronger. I had a vision that you will bring the nations together. You will bring peace and prosperity. My kind has stayed out of the human affairs but we became cold and now we decay. For that, I will transform into a human to live amongst you and by your side. My kind will serve you and your descendants”. 
• And with that, the dragon transformed. The man was shocked to see that the dragon took the form of a beautiful woman. 
• ‘I shall make your ambitions a reality’.
• The man offered his cloth to the naked woman and bowed to her. 
• “As you will serve me, I will serve you. You will always have my blessing and your fire will rage wild”. 
• And like that, they went off to follow their destiny”. 
• Leona wakes up. Her pain is much better after what Xialing gave her. 
• “Good morning” Xialing’s sweet voice sounds nice to her. 
• “Hey” she greets her back.
• “You are sweating, is everything alright? Pain?”. 
• “No, the pain is fine. I just had this weird dream. It looks like I dreamed of the history of the Sun dynasty and the first Dragon. Nevermind” she tries to shake it off.
• “Alright. Let’s get you bathed”. 
• Leona doesn’t want to wake up though. 
• “But today is our day off!” she whines. 
• “Prince Ren asked to for you. He would like your help on something”. 
• Leona jumps out of bed and does what Xialing says so. 
• She has prepared her clothes made from silk. They are elegant and free. She styles her hair up to a small bun. 
• “Try to not make me too feminine” she comments.
• “I wish I could. Your beauty is breathtaking. It’s a pity I can’t dress you up as a princess” she is pouting. 
• “Thanks but I’d prefer to look like a handsome young lad” she teases her.
• She moves out of her room feeling really happy. Being in good terms with the royal family is important for a dragon. 
• The prince is waiting by the pond. 
• “Prince--” she looks at his annoyed face and stops. 
• “Ren” she fixes it. 
• “Welcome Leon”. 
• Leona sits next to him. Some maids pass by and giggle while looking at them.
• “Are they making fun of me?” she asks. 
• “No. They like you” and he winks at her. She immediately blushes and he laughs. 
• “No! Really? Like..? Like me like a--”.
• “Like you like a man. You have quite some feminine traits”. 
• Leona frowns and puts on a male voice.
• “Me? Feminine? I’m as male as someone can be”. Ren laughs once more at her reaction.
• “I’m not doubling your manhood. I’m just saying that a lot of women actually like men that look too pretty. This is your advantage”. 
• Leona wants to hide under a hole. 
• “So, I invited you here because I want to work with you. The truth is that there’s a situation on the south. Me and the Dragons we are gonna take care of it. You will be my right hand and command them on this expedition”.
• Leona is shocked. She wonders why would he chose her. 
• “Ren, no offense, I love that you chose me for that.. I’m quite honored actually. But, why me? I think I’m the weakest amongst them. Val is great on leading actually”. 
• “Yes, he is. But he can’t seem to let his pride be hurt. He doesn’t want someone to be better than him. I saw you on the first task; you went ahead and took the biggest number of monsters than anyone and not just from your team, every team. You were thinking about the objective and the team, not yourself. To be true, I think you handled it terribly but you get the point”. 
• Leona is in awe as she didn’t think Ren would have noticed such details. 
• ‘He is truly magnificent’. 
• “Thank you Ren, I won’t let you down. Tell me about the situation”. 
• “Alright. It seems that there’s a concentration of black energy in the south. It seems someone has gathered dark forces against the Kingdom. This isn’t the first time this happens. Great responsibility means you have lots of enemies too. You and a team will investigate that. We will prepare and then we will strike”. 
• They continue about making plans till launch time came.  
• Josh appears with three more guys. 
• “Leon, you seem ok!” he says cheering.
• “Prince” and they bow. 
• “Go ahead, I need to attend a meeting” and Ren leaves. 
• “We are gonna go out to grab something to eat, wanna come too?” he invited her. 
• ‘Friends? wow’. 
• “I would love to!” and they hit town. 
• People are nice when they see them, respecting the dragon warriors.
• They enter a tavern called the “Purple Iris” with the symbol of the flower on it. They are offered a seat and order a bunch of different dishes. 
• “So, this is Noah and this is Terik” says Josh showing the other two boys.
• Josh has light brown hair that he desperately tries to grow them but somewhere along the line fails. His eyes are a lighter amber color. His height is the same as Leona’s.
• Noah is tall and really thin and has the longest hair on the team. His hair are chocolate brown and his eyes are more darker amber than others. 
• And then there is Terik that seems to be really flirty with the girls. He is the oldest and has a good body shape. His hair are ashe brown and done in two ponytails. His eyes are yellow. 
• “Nice to meet both of you!” Leona tries to sound nice. 
• “Welcome to the club of the people that don’t follow Val around like he is our savior or something” Terik mocks Val.
• “Yes, he is always acting so perfect and like he is better than us” Noah continues. 
• “Now now, let’s not be mean. Yes, he is cocky but he isn’t that bad either” Leona tries to defend him a little. 
• “He is right. Let’s agree we are different” Josh tries to end this conversation. 
• Wine enters the scene as the manager offers them free drinks. They’ve been drinking for a while and Leona feels her senses clouded. 
• Four ladies come their way and ask if they can join them. They all agree and every girl sits next to a guy. 
• Leona looks next to her seeing a girl with orange hair done in ponytails sitting right next to her. 
• She realises she is one of the maids from before. Right now she is wearing a dress that is revealing and tight around her waist to show her breasts. 
• She looks at her with her big brown eyes and rubs her body against her arm. 
• ‘Ah, shit. What should I do?’. 
• She sees that the rest of the gang get well with the girls, flirting. 
• “My name is Vivian” she introduces herself. 
• “Um hi, I’m Leon” she mumbles.
• “That’s a beautiful name”. She clings on her arm trying to tease her. 
• “Hey Leon, let’s go for a walk” Terik comments and everyone stands up. 
• They move out of the tavern and walk down the road for the palace. They are now inside where the rooms split; right for the Dragons, left for the maids. 
• But, nobody's going left. They all move to their rooms and Leona ends up being inside her own, with Vivian in it. 
• ‘Fuck, why is she still here?’. 
• Vivian tries to be sensual and moves onto Leona. 
• “Wait, hey we just met!” she tries to avoid her. 
• She pinned Leona to a chair and she tries to touch her on the lower part of her body. Leona knows too well that she won’t find what she is looking for. 
• She will either think that it is too small or that she is a girl, which is the truth. 
• Before she gets there she grabs her arm and removes it.
• “Stop it!” she shouts. 
• Vivian feels sad and about to cry. 
• “Isn’t this what you wanted?” she says. 
• “No, I didn’t ask for it”. 
• “Am I not good enough..?” Vivian feels really sad. 
• Leona feels bad that she must have hurt the girl’s confidence. 
• She grabs her by the arms to calm her down. 
• ‘Wow, she is quite small. I’m taller than her’. 
• “That’s not the point. You look amazing. You are so pretty, really I haven’t seen someone looking more beautiful than you. But I’m not here to have things like that. I’m here to train and one day maybe make a family. But I’m not here to have fun with girls, not yet. And I don’t want to hurt you. You deserve so much more that throwing yourself for free to a man you barely know. You are a diamond and you shouldn’t let yourself get wasted on me”. 
• Vivian looks up on her being in awe. ‘No one has been so nice to me’. 
• She jumps to her hug and buries herself in it. “Thank you Leon, you are too good!” and with that she removes herself from the room. 
• Leona blows the sweat of her forehead. 
• ‘What did just happened?’.
