Chapter 2

• And with that, the game masters come in to seperate the boys into teams. 
• Leona is scared, grinding her teeth, scratching her whole face. Combat fight had been her weakest point. But fire isn’t that bad. She is a good wilder of fire. She’s afraid though that she will run out of stamina with the first task. But she has no time to think, she has to proceed to the first task. 
• She ends up on a team with 9 boys. From her team, she knows no one. “Ok people, my name is Val. I’ll lead you to victory”, says a tall boy with brown spiky hair. He is actually a prodigy of the school from the town of Nala. Everyone knows how good he is. Leona felt good since she ended up on his team. “Alright so how you suggest that?”, another boy asks, Jay. Val is giving it a thought, and is ready to share the plan.
• All ten teams go out from the Arena so the task can begin. The teams though aren’t together. Each team has been placed in front of a road that has to stick to, or else they get disqualified. 
• From the speakers the Grandmaster gives the GO, and everyone charges in. 
• In Leona’s team, they have the two strong boys in the front to act as a shield. Then, on the back they have two more to hold the lines and warn for incoming. These are good in combat fight. The two quickest will act as the eyes of the team, so they climb to the roof of the houses and follow from there, shutting any incoming. And then the rest are ready to do most of the fighting.
• Leona isn’t happy about it but she gets it. She isn’t the quickest or strongest, but she is agile and her moves are really good to take down the monsters. 
• Val is the one that leads them. They don’t run much, as they don’t wanna waste stamina. Leona feels the air changing. She grabs Val and says, “They are here”. Her abilities to sense are incredible. 
• Val raises her hand so everyone will stop. “INCOMING”, screams the boy on the roof and 5 monsters appear. All boys ready their swords to start fighting.
• The boys from the above shoot down with fire the easy monsters. Then the two on the back, with flips and kicks take down the big ones. These are the “twins from the north”. 
• Val screams “charge!” and the boys in the front raise the shields they have and push forward. One spots the wall and says, “The wall! is there! we are almost there!”. 
• A monster appears from behind and bites the boy’s arm. He pulls him so hard that raises him in the air with his jaw.
• Val quickly climbs on the big monster and swings his sword, piercing it. The monster drops the boy down  and Val continues stabbing it in the stomach. 
• Leona looks ahead seeing that the road is filled with monsters.
• “We are not gonna make it”, she whispers as she sees the army of monsters ahead. “Screw this”, and with that she charges in. 
• First monster raises his fist to her, and she dodges the attack by flipping over his hand. Then another punch comes her way but she dives down sliding to the ground. 
• She pushes on the ground with her two feet and jumps in the air. She lands on a monster and with quick steps she jumps from one to another, shooting fire from her hands. She then lands in front of them and with a swing of her sword, she sends a fire wave that knocks them back. 
• Val sees her and grabs the other teammates and they all run for the wall. Val pushes the monsters, stabs them, and sets them on fire. All together, running and killing, acting like a team, reach the wall. The gate is in their reach. Leona is panting, waiting for them. Val arrives and looks at her with ice cold gaze as he opens the door. 
• They all breathe heavily, from all this running. 
• ‘Shit, I’m out of stamina’. 
• They look around. They don’t see any other team. They immediately grab the flag that was placed there and ring the drum.
• After a minute another team comes out, all covered in sweat. She looks and sees that Jet is on that team. She frowns to see that this person made it. 
• “Did we make it?” a boy asks. “I guess so!” Val answers. At that moment a carriage arrives. A dragon warrior comes out of it dress in the black and red suit. He looks at Leona’s team and says, “You made it, congrats”, and he does the same to Jet’s team. Leona’s team start clapping and screaming from happiness as they move back to the Arena. 
• The trainees take a break as the ‘couples’ are being picked. Leona is splashing some water on her face. Val comes her way and grabs her by the hand. 
• “What’s your problem?” she asks. 
• “What’s my problem? What was that back there? we were suppose to be a team! Not you leaving us behind! What, did you think you could win with this cowardice action?”.
• At that moment a game master comes in and tells them to get ready. Leona feels frustrated about it. She didn’t try to escape; she was trying to make it easy for them.
• She didn’t have a chance to say that as they had to move. 
• The Grandmaster is on his platform about to make a speech. “Congratulations to the two teams for making it. For the rest of you, thank you for participating. You can still try for the next year. For the ones that made it, be ready”, and with that the second task begins.
• There’s a big board that shows who is gonna fight who, and who starts first. She sees that Val is fighting 5th. She continues searching her name, seeing that it’s last on the list. 
• She feels relief since she has some time to replenish her powers. She sees who she is fighting with. She goggles. 
• Jet comes next to her and says, “That is gonna be so easy, fighting you, I mean”. 
• ‘Why him universe?’.
• And with that the first fight begins. 
• One after the other, winner, loser, they all fight to the end. Val of course wins easily.
• Seeing his moves she understood his strategy. He was saving stamina back there so he can succeed now.
• ‘I should have done this’.
• The time passes and the time comes for the last couple to fight, for the 10th member to be added. They get into the Arena. The sun seems to start setting. Will the light be enough to guide her?
