Chapter 33 Forcing Helen Into a Corner
- Hogan was furious. "Nonsense! Do you think you're so capable, Helen? You seem to have forgotten who helped you back then! If the family hadn't funded Troy Global in its initial stages, would the company have expanded and grown so quickly? Without Troy Global, you wouldn't have made the billion dollars to start Winners Capital!"
- Helen retorted, "Uncle Hogan, it's true that the Lewis family invested a hundred million dollars in Troy Global, but I've also handed half of the company's shares worth more than twenty billion dollars to the family. That's a return on investment of more than two hundred times. I think that's enough to repay my debt of gratitude to you. Winners Capital is entirely my own effort, and the Lewis family has nothing to do with it."
- Felyn Lewis, Hogan's wife and Helen's third aunt, also tried to convince her. "Helen, you shouldn't think like that. You're a woman, and one day you'll marry someone else, and Winners Capital will belong to your husband. Why would you give your life's work to a man you might not even have met, instead of giving it back to the family? That's sheer ingratitude!"
