Chapter 1 Looking for a Child

  • "I am a 25-year-old woman with a slender and sexy body. My wealthy husband is impotent, so I'm looking for a healthy male to help fulfill my dream of becoming a mother. Successful candidates will be handsomely rewarded. Please call 138…"
  • Vance Krauss dialed the number. "Hello? I'd like to help you fulfill your dream of becoming a mother."
  • The person on the other side of the call had a coquettish voice. "That's great! Why don't we meet up and talk? Let's meet in half an hour at the Twilight Club. I'll be dressed in a purple gown."
  • "No problem," Vance answered.
  • After ending the call, he heaved a huge sigh of relief!
  • He was once known as the "Living Reaper," and he did not expect to be caught in such a predicament.
  • Ever since he was a child, he had been living an ascetic life with his master on Mount Solus.
  • His master taught him everything, including medicine, geomancy, fortune-telling, and even covert martial arts.
  • That was how he spent the first twenty years of his life!
  • However, his master said that he had barely scratched the surface. To toughen him up, his master threw him into the Arctic Dungeon for further training.
  • That prison held the most dangerous individuals that had ever lived on the planet. Its inmates included…
  • "Falcon," the legendary assassin who assassinated the President of Aquilla.
  • "Butcher," the self-proclaimed King of Mercenaries who had invaded an unnamed nation in the Frican continent.
  • The Avatar of War, a merciless warlord who killed a million prisoners of war.
  • Mammon Piers, owner of the world's largest underground bank, who had once sent the world economy into chaos.
  • Donald Wiltmoor, a crime lord who held unimaginable influence over the government, the police, and the business world…
  • Vance had taught each of them a "small lesson," and they had sworn allegiance to him.
  • Their nickname for Vance was… the Living Reaper!
  • Vance was freed from the prison the day before. He had also received two missions from his master.
  • The first was to fulfill a marriage contract in Chevron.
  • The second was to capture William, the King of Assassins, who had just assassinated the president of a neighboring country and was hiding somewhere in Midsom.
  • The flight to Chevron took an entire day. When he landed, he realized that he had lost his luggage.
  • In his suitcase was an assortment of gifts from his friends in prison, including a lavish mansion from Donald the crime lord, a limitless credit card from Mammon the underground banker, a "medal of authority" from the Avatar of War, a letter of authorization to command three hundred thousand mercenary troops from "Butcher", and most importantly… a marriage contract.
  • He did not know who his fiancée was or where she lived. He did not have a single penny to his name, only an old-fashioned mobile phone that his silly old master gave him…
  • With no other option, he had to resort to "that" to solve his most immediate problems.
  • Soon, he arrived at the Twilight Club.
  • The moment he stepped through the door, his gaze was captivated by a woman in a purple gown.
  • The woman had exquisite features that took his breath away. Unfortunately, there was a hint of profound melancholy in her eyes. The way her lips and teeth held the straw was both innocent and seductive.
  • The long purple gown accentuated her curvaceous body and exposed a short length of skin above her ankles.
  • It was hard not to be charmed by such beauty and elegance.
  • She was at least a 9.9 out of 10.
  • "She's really beautiful, but too bad about her luck," Vance mumbled to himself as he walked over to her table.
  • "Nice to meet you. I'm Vance Krauss."
  • The woman in the purple gown lifted her head and glanced at Vance. "Nice to meet you. Hazel Sullivan. Have a seat."
  • "Mm," Vance replied as he sat down.
  • "Do you want a drink?" Hazel asked.
  • "I can't accept your drinks for free. I haven't started the job. Let's get to the point?"
  • "What point? What job?" Hazel was confused.
  • "Didn't you put up an ad looking for someone to help you get a child? I'm here to fulfill your dreams of becoming a mother."
  • Hazel's face instantly fell. She flung her glass of wine at Vance. "What the hell? Get lost!"
  • Vance tilted his head to evade the incoming wine, though he was secretly panicking inside.
  • She doesn't look like she's lying. Was I mistaken?
  • Hazel stood up and prepared to leave, feeling extremely aggrieved.
  • Two days ago, her grandfather had told her that he had signed her into a marriage contract. She would have to marry the disciple of her grandfather's benefactor.
  • Moreover, said disciple was already on his way to Chevron to fulfill the contract.
  • Hazel was bowled over when she heard the sudden news. She did not want to marry a stranger, let alone a hermit who had never left the mountainous wilderness.
  • That was why she was at the nightclub. She had requested her best friend to match her with a colleague.
  • Of course, the "marriage" was supposed to be temporary. The hermit would find that she was married, and he would leave.
  • After that, they would "divorce."
  • She did not expect to encounter a hooligan who would so brazenly say he was there to give her a child…
  • Hmm, come to think of it, this guy is lecherous and shameless. He's the perfect candidate to be my fake husband!
  • She turned around and asked Vance, "Do you need money?"
  • "Yes," Vance replied and nodded.
  • "Do me a favor, and I'll give you five thousand dollars."
  • "What do you need? I can do medicine, geomancy, fortune-telling, and brawling."
  • "You'll soon find out. Follow me."
  • Half an hour later, the two people stepped out of the city courthouse.
  • Vance had the urge to wipe Hazel's pretty face with the marriage certificate.
  • How shameless! Your "favor" is to marry you! Master was right. All beautiful women are liars.
  • "Don't get the wrong idea," Hazel said, "This marriage is strictly a transaction. Here's a debit card with two thousand dollars. I'll pay you the remainder when we divorce. It might take half a week, or it might be a month. After that, we'll go our separate ways and never see each other again. Don't even think of anything funny. I'll pick you up to meet my family tomorrow. Bye."
  • Hazel got into her car and drove away. Vance remained standing there, utterly dumbfounded.
  • I'm here to look for my fiancée, but I'm married to another woman now… And I thought I was just minding my own business!
  • Suddenly, he received a call.
  • "Hey, I'm waiting for you at the Twilight Club." It was the coquettish woman.
  • "Sorry, I was held up," Vance said.
  • "Why don't you come over to the Crystal Palace Hotel? I'll meet you in Room 1200."
  • "Okay."
  • The Crystal Palace Hotel was only ten minutes away. Vance opened the door to Room 1200 and stepped inside.
  • A sexy woman in a spaghetti strap top, a miniskirt, and black lace stockings was sitting on the bed browsing on her phone.
  • Noticing Vance's presence, she smiled seductively. "You're here. Come over and have a seat."
