Chapter 17

• Soon after Jack had arrived at Eagle Mountain, the herb-collecting groups returned, one after another. Apparently, a fruitful yield had pasted smiles on everyone's faces. The disciples in charge of guarding those from Herb Mountain had more or less gained some benefits, being given a few low- grade spirit grasses.
• No one bothered to pay attention to Jack. Well, Jack wasn't concerned at all. He sat by the iron barrel munching some food while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Cloud Forest.
• In the evening, only eleven out of the fifteen herb-collecting groups made their return. Missing were the other four teams, including Addison and Miranda, who would never show up again. The expedition for herb collection was always shadowed in danger, and every disciple was already mentally prepared for it. There were also casualties in the eleven teams that had made it back. Nine disciples died in the forest, their bodies lost forever.
