Chapter 23

• It's Friday already and I'm rounding up my shift with Aisha. Katie isn't present today, but there's a new guy who worked as the cashier today. Found out his name was Percy and he's Leo's nephew. He works here some days when Katie is off or not around to work at all. Tomorrow Saturday, Liam and I have a date like he put it and I've never been this nervous. I don't know what I'm doing. I've never been to dates before and I feel like I should politely call this one off. Liam's great, he's nice but, I find myself asking myself if going on a date with Liam is the next step after our short term friendship.
• I like him, yes. But like him to the extent of dating him? I'm not so sure. I think it's because of Jake, my roommate. I want to get Jake out of my head, but it's not working. And the more I try, the more complicated it gets.
• I round up in the evening and say my goodbyes to Percy and Aisha before leaving the diner. The walk to the bus stop is short. I sit down on the bench and pull out my phone and there's a text from Landon.
