Chapter 5 I don't have a daughter like you!
- Abby looked at her sympathetically. "Is it worth the trouble? If you go on like this, your body will really collapse. Who knows? You might even die here."
- Su Yao smiled sorrowfully with a relieved look on her face. "Dying here wouldn't be too bad. Who knows? It make help him calm down."
- Knowing that she couldn't be persuaded, Abby sighed, then spun around and stepped inside the mansion.
- "Is she unwilling to leave?" Lu Licheng had a cruel smirk across his face. "Call the Zhous and tell them that their daughter's murderer is right outside the door."
- The corner of Abby's lips twitched. "Yes."
- "Also, tell Su Zhangzhong that it's not impossible for him to save his family. All he has to do is cut all ties with Su Yao and I'll let them go."
- Lu Licheng stared ominously out the window at the stubborn figure outside. "I want to make her feel every type of pain and make her life a living hell."
- Half an hour later...
- Su Yao persistently waited outside Lu Licheng's door for him to come out.
- "Su Yao!" All of a sudden, she heard an ear-piercing voice. Before she could take a good look to see who it was, five fingers landed on her face *Slap!*
- It was Zhou Tong's mother.
- "Our Zhou Tong saw you as her own sister! She thought about you whenever anything good happened, and yet you did something lower than low?! You killed Zhou Tong. Has your conscience rotted to hell? Give me back my daughter's life..."
- Zhou Tong's mother hit her inexplicably. After kneeling all night in the rain, did Su Yao even have an ounce of strength left in her?
- Her hair was pulled violently and she was slapped repeatedly hard on the face.
- Su Yao's face instantly turned red and swollen.
- She didn't fight back, nor did she want to. No matter how you put it, she had some blame in Zhou Tong's death. If this could make Mrs. Zhou happy, then she was wiling to take the hit.
- "You worthless piece of sh*t! Give me back my daughter! Give me back Zhou Tong..."
- Mrs. Zhou cried as she hit her. Su Yao seemed like a soulless, wooden doll who let her hit her.
- "What are you doing?" All of a sudden, they heard Mrs. Su's voice. Finally, the deathly still look on Su Yao's face had a slither of hope. She looked up to see her mother standing close by.
- Her father was also with her.
- Mrs. Su's heart ached when she saw Mrs. Zhou hit Su Yao. She wanted to march over there and stop her, but Su Zhangzhong held her back.
- An hour ago, Lu Licheng's assistant called to tell him that as long as they cut ties with Su Yao and kick her out of the house, Lu Inc would let bygones be bygones and help Su Corp get through their troubled times.
- To save Su Corp, they couldn't have the slightest thing to do with Su Yao.
- Su Zhangzhong glared coldly at his daughter from a distance. Her clothes were completely drenched, her face was swollen, her hair fell messily by her ears, and she was covered in mud. He could tell with just one look that she suffered quite a bit.
- This daughter of his was opinionated from a very young age and refused to be disciplined. Now that she did such a disgraceful thing and caused Zhou Tong to die, she should receive punishment.
- Most importantly, he couldn't let her drag down Su Corp.
- Su Zhangzhong tightly pursed his lips and threw a piece of paper in front of Su Yao. "You've done something so shameless that I'm so ashamed to call you my daughter. This is a certificate of emancipation. From now on, you are no longer my daughter and you no longer belong to the Su family."
- Mrs. Zhou was dumbfounded on the spot, and instantly forgot about crying.
- With Su Yao's parents being there, Mrs. Zhou felt bad about continuing to hit her. After all, they were family friends, and Su Zhangzhong had already went as far as to say that. She felt even more out of place to say anything more.
- Su Yao, whose entire body has gone numb, finally felt a tinge of pain. That pain felt like a silver needle stabbing repeated into her heart. The pain started to make it hard for her to breathe.
- She bent over and picked up the thin piece of paper. The large words on the paper hurt her eyes.
- Certificate of emancipation.
- Su Yao would never emancipate her parents, and yet her family severed all ties just like that with a thin sheet of paper.
- At the same time, they severed the final sentiments that she had for her family.
- The paper shook slightly in her hand. She had no idea when it started, but her hand was trembling intensely.
- That's good. From now on, Su Yao will have nothing to do with the Su family. It's pretty good that Lu Licheng would only exact on her alone.
- She would no longer drag down her family and Su Corp.
- Su Yao looked up at her parents from a distance and flashed a somber smile. "Ma..."
- She suddenly stopped mid-sentence, and corrected herself. "Mrs. Su, you can all relax. From now on, I won't trouble you all."
- Su Zhangzhong raised his head and glanced up at the second floor window of the Lu family mansion and vaguely saw a tall figure behind the curtain.
- Lu Licheng was watching everything.
- Su Zhangzhong scoffed coldly. "That'd be for the best. Our daughter Su Yao has died and you don't have the slightest relation to our family!"
- Mrs. Su wanted to say something but hesitated. She looked at her extremely worn out daughter with a completely heartbroken expression on her face. She had more to say but Su Zhangzhong forcefully dragged her away.
- "Su Yao, you're lucky to have considerably reasonable parents. Otherwise, I wouldn't have let you off today. Mark my words! I'm not done with you for what happened to Zhou Tong!"
- Mrs. Zhou fiercely finished what she had to say, then turned around and walked off.
- "Hello. You're Su Yao, right?" Two people in police uniforms walked up to her.
- Su Yao nodded. Her gaze looked somewhat confused. "Yes. Is there something wrong?"
- "There are some irregularities with Miss. Zhou Tong's car accident. Some key evidence suggests that you deliberately orchestrated the car accident. Please come with us to the police office."
