Chapter 14 Unable to Repay the Debt You Owe in This Lifetime
- "If you don't want to back inside, then you had better behave and not pull any stunts!" Lu Licheng rose towering over her as he looked at her, "Now that you're out of prison, with Ye Sichen giving you backing, do you think you can make powerful connections and start a new life?"
- A new life?
- She had long died in that dark and gloomy prison. What new life could she have?
- She caused her child to die, and it imprisoned for eternity!
- Su Yao gradually said hoarsely, "I owe the debt of life, so there's no way I can repay it in this lifetime or harbor any hopes for a new life."
- Lu Licheng hummed coolly, "So you still remember you caused Zhou Tong's death? I thought a heartless person like you would have long forgotten. You're right, and you owe a life so can't repay it in this lifetime!"
- While Su Yao looked down, a cold smile of irony swept past her face.
- She did owe someone a life, but it had nothing to do with Zhou Tong!
- She neither seduced him nor caused Zhou Tong's death!
- None of it had anything to do with her!
- In the past, Su Yao might have refuted, or shouted out loud in defense, but not anymore.
- Because she knew even if she did, no one would listen or believe her.
- Say whatever you want, think whatever you want.
- Whether or not they were her crimes, she had suffered their consequences.
- As long as it didn't kill her, she didn't care.
- Although Su Yao was particularly submissive, not arguing at all, Lu Licheng was not the least bit happy, instead it disgusted him, " Su Yao, you had always been sickening, but now you're even more repulsive!"
- Appearing disgusted by the sight of her, Lu Licheng turned for the door.
- "Lu Licheng, you're too much!" reproached Ye Sichen, who turned to help Su Yao, "Get up and stop kneeling to people like him!" Lu Licheng suddenly halted at the door, as his eyes fell coldly on Ye Sichen's hand, which was grabbing Su Yao's arm, "Ye Sichen, don't you want to win the contract?"
- Ye Sichen uncaringly said, "I don't want the deal anymore. I've already eaten so many times with you, but you have no intention of signing the contract with me ."
- "If you appear downstairs in one minute, I'll sign it immediately. Oh yes, Su Yao, I suggest you rinse your mouth after you get back because that smell in your mouth is making me puke," on saying this, Lu Licheng turned to walk out without turning back.
- "Lu Licheng, you're so childish... wait for me!" Ye Sichen looked at Su Yao in a dilemma, with the contract on his mind, he chased after him.
- They were here today precisely to discuss the deal. Ye Sichen had been courting Lu Licheng for over half a month, but Lu Licheng was disinterested, so now that he had finally agreed, Ye Sichen was naturally uneasy!
- Wang turned his fat body around to chase them.
- Even after the footsteps were inaudible, Su Yao continued to tremble!
- With her top drenched in cold sweat on her back, she tried to get up, but her body was shuddering so hard it was limp, and she was incapable of standing!
- Su Yao grabbed the carpet on the ground tight and did her best to repress the shivering!
- Lu Licheng! You monster!
- After taking away so many of her things, why wouldn't he let her off?
- Why couldn't she escape his clutches?
- What more was he going to take from her, and how much more torture before he was satisfied?
- Yuanyuan crossed her arms over her chest, then walked up before Su Yao, looking inexplicably at her, "Well done, Su Yao! You look like the honest sort, but it turns out that you know such a powerful boss! You even got to kiss such a handsome man! I'm curious about exactly who you are."
- Yuanyuan scrutinized her, then came up right in front of her and asked the surprising, "Don't tell me you're some rich man's daughter?"
- Su Yao''s heart skipped a beat and denied out of reflex, "No, I'm not," as she spoke, she smiled, "I have neither a home nor relatives. I'm just an inmate who just got released from prison, so I can't be a rich man's daughter. I'm nothing but someone who unintentionally offended an influential person. You've already seen how much he hates me and wishes I could just die."
- "That's true," sighed Yuanyuan, "I was hoping I could follow you around to get to meet some rich men's sons, but now you're completely useless! Stay away from me. I don't want any of your bad luck rubbing off me!"
- Then she walked off in her high heels and left.
- 30 minutes later.
- Su Yao held the bundle in her chest tight, under cover of the night, she furtively left the dorm.
- To begin with, she only planned on working here temporarily, after earning enough money she would look that man up, but she unexpectedly bumped into Lu Licheng so quickly!
- It was unbearable for Su Yao to live under his scrutiny!
- She had to flee and run far away!
- She didn't want to see him again in her life!
- Grasping the $1500 tightly to her chest, along with the small metal box, Su Yao gingerly scoured the place, when certain no one else was around, she kept her head down and darted out.
- She hailed a cab off the street and speedily dived in.
- "Driver, to the high-speed rail station. Quickly, please."
- She decided to leave, taking the first trip available at the high-speed rail station, regardless of its location.
- She did not care where she was going; the only thing that mattered was to leave this place quickly!
- The driver glanced at her through the rearview mirror, to see that was wearing a black cap looking grave while holding on tightly a box-shaped object, then something suddenly dawned on him.
- The driver muttered inwardly at his bad luck for landing a customer, who was carrying a cremation urn in the middle of the night because it was a taboo to nightshift drivers.
- The more he thought, the angrier he became, so the driver hastily parked by the roadside and impatiently asked, "Is that a cremation urn you are carrying?"
- After all these years of prison life, she was used to responding to questions submissively, even if the question sounded hostile.
- "It's my son's... my son died, and this is his fetal hair..." she replied warily.
- "Are you insane, going around carrying a dead person's things everywhere you go? Who are you trying to scare? Get off. I'm not taking you!"
- Su Yao looked at the driver in shock, after living with low self-esteem and taking caution not to offend anyone for so many years, she did not even dare to reply.
- They were in the middle of nowhere in pitch-black darkness, where it was impossible to find another cab.
- "Driver, it's hard to get a cab here... can you go a little further..." said Su Yao carefully, who was harshly interrupted by the driver.
- "Whether or not you can get a car, isn't my problem! With you sitting in my car with an urn, how am I going to keep driving the nightshift in the future?" he irritably waved to chase her off, "Get off, get off!"
- "Driver, please. I've urgent matters, so please take me there!"
- Beseeched Su Yao, but the driver was adamant.
- "There's no point arguing, just get off!"
- Seeing that the driver was going to chase her away by force, she helplessly alighted the cab.
- As she stepped out of the car, a few rays of headlights flooded from behind to reveal a familiar black Land Rover and three Mercedes-Benz cars trailing closely behind.
- Su Yao stared wide-eyed!
- Lu Licheng!
