Chapter 12 Undignified Trash
- "Ah, so it's you," stared Lu Licheng, his eyes glinting coldly.
- In the dimly lit private room, she seemed to be a completely different person and not the least bit resembling Su Yao.
- She was so skinny that the uniform sagged off her as though they were robes, and her face was even scrawnier. Her head hung rigidly, fearful of looking up at him.
- Someone noticed that there was more to their relationship, Wang probed, "Mr. Lu, do you know her?"
- "Yes, I do. We're such old friends after all," Lu Licheng crossed his leg, then placed his hands on the armrest, seeming languorous and indescribably cold.
- "Su Yao, why won't you just die?"
- Su Yao trembled instinctively, biting down on her lower lip, trying to prevent the chatter of her teeth from becoming audible.
- Yes, why can't she just die?
- Sometimes Su Yao asked the same question. Since she was living a life worse than an animal, why couldn't she just die?
- When it felt as though she was going to collapse, she would tell herself to stop holding on, because it was too tired!
- Except she yearned to see the child one last time before she died, even if he had reduced to a pile of bones!
- Was this one tiny wish so hard to fulfill?
- Was it too much to ask for one look?
- Heavens! Was it too much?
- All she wanted was to take a look at her child, a dead one. Why was it so hard?
- No, she mustn't die!
- She must live!
- How could she die without seeing her child?
- The only person she had served injustice to was her child. If it weren't for her, would he have had such a fleeting life?
- She owed it a life!
- If she had to die, she wanted to die with the child!
- With a loud clunk, Su Yao knelt onto the ground kowtowing him repeatedly, "Mr. Lu, I'm very sorry, I beg you to forgive me. As long as I don't die, I'm willing to do anything you ask..."
- Flabbergasted, Lu Licheng's eyes tightened, as a hint of fury rose within him, so barely detectable that he was oblivious to it!
- How could she kneel just like that, as though her pride wasn't worth anything?
- Was this woman truly Su Yao? She used to have so much pride that she would rather die than give in.
- "So long as you don't die, I can do anything?" said Lu Licheng, as he gnashed his teeth, "You sure treasure your life!"
- Su Yao paused very briefly, then continued throwing her head powerfully on the ground.
- "If you're willing to let me go, I'm willing to do anything, so please..."
- The thudding that reverberated through the quiet room was jarring to his ears and made Lu Licheng feel uncontrollably frustrated.
- Damn it, hadn't it always for Su Yao to be like this?
- Why did it stab his eyes?
- Precisely, she murdered Zhou Tong, so the sight of her reminded him of Zhou Tong! This wretched woman!
- A dangerous gleam emitted from Lu Licheng's narrowed eyes, "You'll do anything, right? Alright, since you love kneeling so much, then I'll give you a chance. See that pile of wine bottles over there? If you can go over those glass shards while on your knees, I'll let you off."
- Su Yao shuddered as she looked out to pile of broken glass.
- Despite all the experience that Yuanyuan had, she could not bear the thought!
- That glass was from the bottles of wine Su Yao had inadvertently broken. Now, Lu Licheng wanted her to on her knees to cross them?
- Was he kidding?
- Under the fragments of glass was a pool of high alcohol content wine!
- The pain would be excruciating if it touched the wounds.
- Su Yao sat pallid, gazing at the pieces of glass remaining motionless for quite a while.
- Lu Licheng leaned back onto the couch smiling derisively.
- Su Yao, I wonder how much longer you can keep pretending.
- In a twinkling, Su Yao suddenly stood up to walk up to the pile of broken glass, then under everyone's disbelief knelt right onto it!
- Then came the soft sound of glass penetrating her skin, followed by an agonizing pain shooting from her knees!
- A thin layer of sweat immediately gathered on Su Yao's forehead!
- Blood instantly gushed forth. In a split second, it was no longer discernible whether the stains on the ground were red wine or blood!
- Lu Licheng's hands, which were leaning on the armrest promptly tightened, as his dark eyes narrowed menacingly.
- She knelt!
- The glass debris was not only sharp, but there was a puddle of wine beneath it, yet she unwaveringly knelt!
- Without hesitation, just like back in prison. As long as Su Yao disregarded the pain, the moment she closed her eyes, she would feel nothing.
- It was merely physical pain and not enough to kill.
- Su Yao, you've survived so much, so what was this minor pain to you?
- She slowly moved her knees while the glass stabbed into her flesh, with each lift and drop, they were embedded deeply into her flesh.
- Under the faint lights, Lu Licheng stared taken aback by this scene.
- Was she indeed Su Yao?
- She was in such torment, so why did she proceed with such an unreasonable demand?
- Where were her pride and dignity? Where had her stubborn and unyielding personality gone?
- Where had it all gone?
