• He paused, looked down at his shoes. "This exact thing happened to my favorite cousin." A tear slipped down his cheek but he wiped it out almost immediately.
• I put my hand on his shoulder and patted him a bit, he relaxed under my gentle touch. "You don't have to say anything, it's okay."
• "It was just last year, I was supposed to go to his house for the holidays. I was so excited. I tried calling him a week before I would go there, just to check but his phone was unavailable." He signed.
