Chapter 15 Green Lotus, I Love You
- Ye Manxi didn't want to continue talking to him, but she decided to follow him outside after giving it some thought.
- Huo Tianqi walked slowly, and Ye Manxi walked beside him, with a small path separating them.
- After a few steps, she stopped. Huo Tianqi had walked quite a distance to ensure that Huo Miao wouldn't overhear their conversation.
- This location was far enough from the house, and Huo Miao wouldn't be able to hear anything.
- Huo Tianqi noticed her pause and stopped as well. He had a gentle smile in his eyes and on his face, not only lacking fierceness but also appearing very friendly.
- He was like a typical smiling tiger.
- "Miss Ye Manxi," he smiled and spoke, "Did I say something wrong?"
- Ye Manxi was momentarily startled, but not surprised.
- Huo Tianqi wanted to investigate her background, and it wouldn't be difficult to find out.
- "Your half-sister, Ye Lühe, doesn't want to marry a blind man, so she asked you to marry him instead, right?" Huo Tianqi walked towards a bench by the roadside and bent down to pat the back of the bench. "Come, have a seat. There's no need to be so hostile towards me. Once you get to know me, you'll realize that I'm not as despicable as you think."
- Ye Manxi stood still and glanced at her watch. Huo Miao's medicinal bath would last for forty minutes, and it wouldn't be good for him to soak for too long.
- "Alright, let's get straight to the point," Huo Tianqi approached Ye Manxi. "Let's make a deal. You help me find something, and maybe you can stay by the blind man's side a little longer."
- Ye Manxi lowered her eyelashes, and Huo Tianqi smiled, attempting to place his hand on her shoulder, but she quickly dodged.
- His hand fell empty, but he wasn't angry. He continued speaking with a smile, "You already know what that thing is without me having to say it. It's my grandfather's seal. Since the blind man treats you well, find a way to trick him into revealing the whereabouts of the seal. I won't treat you unfairly."
- Huo Tianqi still hadn't found that seal!
- He had already set his sights on Ye Manxi, and he must have run out of ideas.
- Ye Manxi turned around and walked away. Huo Tianqi said again, "I knew you would react like this. Do you think being so devoted to the blind man will bring you anything? He calls out for Ye Lühe with his mouth and thinks of her in his heart. Just imagine, if one day he finds out you're deceiving him, what will he do?"
- Ye Manxi didn't stop walking. Huo Tianqi couldn't change her feelings for Huo Miao with just a few words.
- Huo Tianqi saw that Ye Manxi ignored him and quickened his pace, grabbing hold of Ye Manxi's arm. "If you anger me, you'll be driven out by the blind man in the next minute."
- Huo Tianqi was strong, and she couldn't struggle against him. Moreover, his words made her unable to move her feet.
- "Think about it," Huo Tianqi's tone softened. "Keeping the seal is useless in the blind man's current state. If this continues, the Huo family's business won't be able to function properly, and all of Grandfather's efforts will be in vain. We can't let it be ruined by the blind man, can we?"
- Ye Manxi really wanted to slap him. Huo Tianqi was malicious and greedy, and he wanted to blame everything on Huo Miao.
- But she couldn't curse at him, she could only stand straight, her fists clenched.
- "Miss Ye, one must look out for oneself. Sooner or later, the blind man will discover the truth. What will you do when he drives you out? Return to the Ye family? Do you think they will still accept you?"
- Ye Manxi glanced at him. He was tall, but not as tall as Huo Miao.
- He wasn't bad-looking, but his eyes were slightly narrow, resembling a particularly fierce animal.
- For example, there was a kind of canine, a jackal.
- He and Huo Miao actually had some similarities. He was like a statue carved from the same stone as Huo Miao. Huo Miao was meticulously crafted by a skilled artisan, while Huo Tianqi was half-finished, as if the artisan suddenly got lazy and hastily finished the rest.
- Ye Manxi's gaze was filled with disdain, and even Huo Tianqi noticed it.
- He didn't mind, patting Ye Manxi's shoulder. "Miss Ye, if you give me the seal or provide information, I will give you five million. This amount is enough for you to do whatever you want, including revitalizing and strengthening your grandfather's clinic."
- Huo Tianqi had thoroughly investigated her, knowing so much about her.
- Ye Manxi pushed away Huo Tianqi's hand and quickly walked away.
- Huo Tianqi stood in place, watching Ye Manxi's figure, his smile gradually disappearing from his lips.
- When Ye Manxi returned to the room, Huo Miao had already prepared the medicinal bath.
- His face was slightly flushed, looking much healthier compared to his pale appearance.
- Huo Miao held Ye Manxi's hand and said, "Did you wear a blue dress today?"
- Ye Manxi lowered her head in surprise and looked at herself. Indeed, she was wearing a blue dress today. Huo Miao was improving every day, and today he could already distinguish colors.
- It seemed that with time, in the near future, he would be able to regain his vision.
- She was filled with both joy and sorrow, and complex emotions intertwined in her heart. For a moment, she couldn't help but cry, and her tears fell onto Huo Miao's hand.
- Feeling the coolness on his hand, he immediately raised it to touch Ye Manxi's face, feeling the dampness and coldness.
- "Silly girl," he gently wiped away her tears with his thumb, "I will see you soon, don't cry."
- Ye Manxi cried even harder, uncontrollable and unstoppable.
- Her tears surged like a bursting flood, she wanted to stop but couldn't control it.
- She couldn't describe the complexity and entanglement of her emotions at this moment.
- On one hand, she hoped Huo Miao could see her immediately, but on the other hand, she wished she could spend more time with him.
- She cried like a broken showerhead, making Huo Miao helpless and distressed.
- He didn't know how to make her stop crying, so he pressed his soft lips against her wet cheek.
- The bitter and salty tears seeped into his lips, so Huo Miao simply kissed her teary eyes.
- Ye Manxi was crying so much that she felt dehydrated, gradually calming down in Huo Miao's embrace.
- She lifted her head from his embrace and looked at him, seeing her reflection in Huo Miao's eyes.
- She reached out and gently held his face, foolishly hoping that if she could always be reflected in Huo Miao's eyes, how wonderful it would be.
- "Lu He," Huo Miao softly called out, bringing her back from her fantasy.
- Ah, she wasn't Ye Luhe, she was just Ye Manxi, a little girl who Huo Miao had never paid attention to.
- She shook her head, realizing that she shouldn't be so greedy.
- The desire to be with Huo Miao for a long time was like a spark, once ignited, it would burn uncontrollably.
- She wiped away her tears, placing Huo Miao's hand on her own face, indicating that she had stopped crying.
- Huo Miao gently caressed her face, his tone filled with tenderness, "Lu He, when I'm better, I will never let you cry again. You will smile in front of me every day."
- Ye Manxi tried hard to lift the corners of her mouth, bringing his hand to her lips.
- He felt the slight movement at the corner of her lips and whispered with his eyes closed, "This is the most beautiful curve I have ever felt. Lu He, I love you."
