Chapter 10 Effective Treatment

  • Huo Miao had already completed a course of treatment with Ye Manxi, and he noticed that each acupuncture session was more painful than the last.
  • In truth, he wasn't certain if Ye Manxi could cure him, but he was willing to give it a try. He didn't have any expectations for the outcome.
  • Jiang Jiye secretly visited Huo Miao and informed him about the current situation of the Huo family and the Duan family.
  • "Mr. Huo, Huo Tianqi is collaborating with the Duan family. He is aware of the animosity between our Huo family and the Duan family. I'm not sure what his intentions are."
  • "He wants to quickly gain support and strengthen his power," Huo Miao said indifferently. "Let him do as he pleases."
  • "Huo Tianqi is also planning to renovate the old mansion. He has been searching for someone to draw the blueprints!"
  • Huo Miao listened without any change in expression.
  • He knew that Huo Tianqi didn't actually want to renovate the old mansion; he was searching every corner to find his grandfather's seal.
  • Huo Miao remained unfazed and even smiled.
  • Jiang Jiye was pleasantly surprised to notice that Huo Miao seemed to have gained a little weight. His cheeks were not as thin as before, and his complexion had significantly improved.
  • "Mr. Huo, you look much better than before. Madam has been taking good care of you."
  • "How are her injuries?" Huo Miao asked.
  • "Oh, Madam's injuries have improved a lot. The wound on her left hand has scabbed over."
  • "Left hand?" Huo Miao muttered to himself, and Jiang Jiye couldn't hear clearly. "What did you say, Mr. Huo?"
  • "It's nothing," Huo Miao shook his head. "Maybe I remembered incorrectly."
  • "Mr. Huo, I brought some supplements for Madam. Please take good care of yourself and recover soon. I'm really afraid that Huo Tianqi will ruin the Huo family."
  • "Okay." Huo Miao waved him off. "You can go now. Don't come here often in the future."
  • "Yes."
  • Not long after Jiang Jiye left, while Ye Manxi was giving him acupuncture, a commotion could be heard downstairs, followed by the sound of many footsteps.
  • She quickly removed the silver needles and covered Huo Miao with the blanket, then put the needles back into the box.
  • The door was kicked open, and several burly men entered. Ye Manxi recognized them as Huo Tianqi's men.
  • Huo Miao sat up from the bed and asked coldly, "Huo Tianqi, what are you here for again?"
  • Huo Tianqi did not come, only his bodyguards did.
  • As soon as they entered, they started rummaging through everything without saying a word. They took out everything from the cabinet and shook it, as well as the desk, drawers, and even violently lifted the blanket covering Huo Miao on the bed.
  • Ye Manxi tightly held onto Huo Miao, afraid that they would harm him.
  • Huo Miao gently patted Ye Manxi's shoulder and reassured, "It's okay, don't be afraid."
  • Those people were like bandits, turning the room upside down. They even lifted the bed boards and a few of them lay on the floor, pressing their ears against the ground to tap on the wooden floor.
  • Ye Manxi didn't know if there was anything hollow beneath the floor, but they would never find what they were looking for.
  • They were tearing the house apart, and Huo Miao just sat by the window, letting them do as they pleased.
  • The bodyguards were panting heavily from their search, but they found nothing. One of the bodyguards called Huo Tianqi and gasped, "Mr. Huo, he's not here. We've almost torn the roof off and still found nothing."
  • I don't know what Huo Tianqi said on the phone, but the bodyguard lowered his head, probably getting scolded. After hanging up, he walked angrily to Huo Miao and said, "You better hand over the things obediently. A wise man knows the times, cooperating with Mr. Huo is your only way out."
  • Huo Miao seemed to have not heard what he said, still looking into the distance.
  • The bodyguard raised his fist, ready to strike, but when his fist was about to touch Huo Miao's forehead, he withdrew his hand out of guilt. Even though he knew Huo Miao couldn't see, the bodyguard felt uneasy.
  • "Huo Miao, you better hand over the things honestly. Don't refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit!"
  • The bodyguards said many harsh words, but they didn't find anything and left in frustration.
  • Ye Manxi looked at the mess in the room and was about to squat down to clean up when Huo Miao held her back.
  • "Housekeeper!" he shouted loudly, "Housekeeper, Mei Jie!"
  • After a while, the housekeeper and Mei Jie came up slowly and stood at the door. "What's wrong?"
  • "Are you both blind like me?" Huo Miao coldly and sternly spoke, "Hurry up and clean up! Do you want the young lady to do it herself?"
  • The housekeeper and Mei Jie had originally wanted to argue back, but for some reason, when Huo Miao's voice rang out, they couldn't help but bend down to clean up.
  • The room was so messy that there was no place to step. Mei couldn't help but feel frustrated as she continued to tidy up. As she put down what she was holding and looked up, she was startled to see Huo Miao staring at her. Terrified, she immediately lowered her head.
  • She muttered softly, "Manager Cai, Manager Cai!"
  • "What's wrong?"
  • "Do you think, Manager Cai, that Huo Miao can see?"
  • "How is that possible?"
  • "I don't know, but it seems like he can."
  • Manager Cai also nervously looked up, but as soon as his gaze met Huo Miao's, he quickly averted his eyes.
  • To be honest, he couldn't really tell.
  • Now Ye Manxi was treating him, and there was a chance that he might regain his vision one day.
  • Manager Cai exchanged a glance with Mei and signaled, "Let's be cautious!"
  • Just in case Huo Miao really regained his sight one day, they needed to have an escape plan.
  • Huo Miao knew very well the character of these two wicked servants. If he didn't scare them off, life would be very difficult for him.
  • He turned his head and felt the stuffy air in the room. He wanted to go to the balcony to get some fresh air.
  • Just as he grasped Ye Manxi's wrist and stood up, he suddenly saw a flash of white light before his eyes.
  • He blinked, and when he opened his eyes again, instead of complete darkness, he was greeted by a vast expanse of bright white, with flickering shadows dancing before him.
  • He felt a surge of joy. Could it be that Ye Manxi's treatment was actually working?
  • He focused his gaze ahead and, though still blurry, he managed to make out two figures squatting on the ground. They were likely Manager Cai and Mei, tidying up.
  • Suppressing his excitement, Huo Miao tried to speak calmly to Ye Manxi. "Lühe, would you accompany me for a walk in the garden?"
  • Ye Manxi supported Huo Miao and carefully maneuvered around the mess on the floor as they made their way out of the room and down the stairs.
  • Although everything in the room remained blurry to Huo Miao, it was a significant improvement from the complete invisibility he had experienced before.
  • Ye Manxi noticed Huo Miao's fingers trembling slightly. Once they stepped outside the house, she looked at him with confusion.
  • "Lühe," Huo Miao gently placed his hand on Ye Manxi's cheek, his touch tender. "I can see a little now. It's a sunny day today, isn't it?"
  • Ye Manxi was overwhelmed with joy. She had been concerned about the lack of progress after the entire treatment course and worried that something might have gone wrong.
  • She stared at Huo Miao with wide eyes, but tears welled up uncontrollably, streaming down her face.
