Chapter 264 Selfish

• The days climbed up as Phoebe lived her life sluggishly. It was nearly a month now since she last saw Asher. Caleb had been acting strange for the past two weeks and it started from the night he had asked her to borrow the one thousand pounds from her rich friend —Asher— and she refused. He had gone on claiming that she doesn’t care about him anymore and it was because a man that drives Lamborghini suddenly found interest in her. He said a lot of things that resulted in Phoebe slapping him and he had left the house that night and didn’t return for five days.
• Phoebe hardly thought about him during that time, if anything, she enjoyed the peace and quiet more. Her dreams were frequenting and each day, she feels they were more like a memory than a dream. Maybe memories from her past life? If so, then why is Asher still alive? How could she see him vividly and why does it feel like he is the very blood that runs in her veins? As if it was not enough that she was being tortured by these dreams, Asher had successfully avoided her for three weeks and two days. Why?
• Did he suddenly lose interest in her after kissing her? Did he eventually discover that she was below him? Not up to his standard and most importantly not beautiful enough to stand beside him? Could it be that it was a wishful thinking from her side? But he was the one that came after her. He was the one that showed interest in her and even if he never said it, she knows for a fact that he loathes the idea that she has a boyfriend. If only he could just show up in front of her once more, she knows that he would give her the strength to leave Caleb. She can’t do it anymore, she can’t stay in the loveless relationship anymore. Right now, she just needs someone to pull her out, someone to extend a hand to her. And that someone can only be Asher.
