Chapter 258 Familiar Stranger

  • Phoebe placed her handbag on her head as she ran across the road to the bus stop. She cleaned off the raindrops on her and shivered a little, wondering when the rain would stop and if she would still be able to catch the bus. She hugged her arm, rubbing her hands to create fiction and keep her warm. If she had known it would rain, she wouldn’t have agreed to work on her colleague’s work no matter how much she had begged. She found herself regretting not listening to Tiana.
  • It's been a week now she started working and apart from Tiana, she doesn’t have any other friend in the company and so when Deborah pleaded with her to help her finish her work because it was her boyfriend’s party and she didn’t want to miss it, she had agreed, hoping to make a new friend and now here she was, the last person to leave her department and stuck in the bus stop because of the heavy downpour.
  • She wondered what Caleb —her boyfriend— was doing. He had called her multiple times demanding what was keeping her and how hungry he was. She had pleaded to be back in the next thirty minutes, she had always used fifteen minutes from that to complete Deborah’s work and now, the rain is taking up the rest of the time.
