Chapter 12 She Doesn’t Want Anyone to Know About Their Relationship
- As soon as Lara entered the room, Damian closed the door behind her, sending a chill down her spine. Her body tensed up subconsciously as she was both nervous and at a loss for what to do.
- Just then, a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around her waist. Damian buried his head in her neck while commenting in a husky voice, “I like this scent very much.”
- It’s the scent of the shower gel at his home, yet he says he likes it… Lara thought to herself. She was desperate to run away from his embrace, but unfortunately, Damian had no intention of letting her go. His breath was overbearing, and when his cool and thin lips moved closer to hers with a strong air of masculinity, she subconsciously turned her head away.
- Damian knitted his brows in displeasure when his kiss landed on Lara’s face. “I never impose myself on women. You may go now if you’re not willing to do it,” he said before letting go of her.
- Lara felt so embarrassed that she wished she could bolt out through the door right away, but Eric’s disgusting face popped up in her mind somehow. It sent a tremor running through her, filling her with so much hatred that she became even stronger in her resolve.
- Even so, she felt an indescribable aversion to this kind of thing and was so nervous that she itched to slap Damian whenever he touched her. However, she had no other choice now. Just submit to him, she told herself inwardly.
- Damian’s eyes darkened when he saw how tender Lara looked while turning her head. In an instant, he felt like a wonderful sensation had surged through him, making him tremble as all the blood in his body was crying out for her. Nevertheless, he said coldly, “You won’t have another chance if you don’t get out right now.” Then, he suddenly scooped her up in his arms and strode toward the bed in his room.
- Damian seemed like an old hand at sex, for he dealt with Lara with effortless ease. Lara, whose body tensed up at first, soon went limp as he teased her.
- Lara thought she had only slept with Damian last time because of the drug’s effects. However, it surprised her that she fully accepted the man this time while being fully conscious. Is it true that, as said on the internet, a woman’s body has an unforgettable memory of the first man she’s slept with? Is it something that not even I, a sexually frigid woman, am immune to? she thought.
- In the end, Lara was so dog-tired that she felt like her body was falling apart. As she slipped into a deep sleep, all she could see was impenetrable darkness.
- She felt like she had a dream. In the white operating room, she was stripped of her pants before she spread her legs and lay down on the cold, solid operating table. As the ice-cold medical instruments were slowly inserted into her body, she heard the doctor’s cold voice. “The embryo’s been implanted successfully. Come again for a checkup after two weeks. We’ll see then if you have successfully gotten pregnant.” Then, it was ten months of pregnancy, followed by an excruciatingly painful labor.
- Lara trembled slightly before waking up in bed with a start. Her body was covered in cold sweat, while a familiar faint smell of tobacco lingered in her nose.
- The man’s deep and husky voice rang behind her. “A nightmare, eh?”
- Startled, Lara turned around and glanced at Damian, who looked completely sober and calm. She replied with a forced smile, “Yeah. I’ll go take a shower.” With that, she picked up her clothes and dashed into the bathroom.
- When she came out of the bathroom, Damian was already sitting in bed with his back against the headboard. Holding a cigarette between his fingertips, he was smoking languidly until he saw Lara coming out sopping wet. His black eyes flickered, and he stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray next to him before beckoning Lara over. “It’s dawn. Do you want me to go to the court with you next time?” He folded her into his arms, and his deep-set eyes lit up as he sniffed her scent.
- Lara shook her head. To be honest, she didn’t want anyone to know about her relationship with Damian before her divorce. “You don’t have to. Mr. Watson will be there anyway. Besides, you’re very busy, and it’s my own business to begin with.”
- Damian didn’t refute Lara as he grabbed her waist with his large hand, dragging her into bed before his body pressed down on hers. “It’s still early. Sleep with me for a while.”
- Sean did deserve his reputation as the top attorney in Oaksworth, for it didn’t take long before he found evidence of Eric’s transfer of assets.
- Lara was delighted when she hung up the phone. Looking at Damian, she said with heartfelt gratitude, “Thank you so much, Damian.”
- Damian, who was drinking coffee, looked up and saw Lara’s bright smile. For some reason, he felt as though something had hit him in the heart, and he turned his head away with a frown.
