Chapter 52 The Series of Accidents at the Dinner Party
- Lara couldn’t help but give the man a meaningful look. After pursing her lips, she said in a low voice, “Well, everyone in the office’s been saying that Miss Kells seems very friendly with you…” Then, she broke off mid-sentence, fearing that he might fire those in his company again in a fit of rage.
- Suddenly, Damian leaned up close to her as his tall figure bore down on her and folded her in his arms. His scarlet lips curved slightly, and his voice sounded very much captivating. “Oh, is that so? I didn’t know Aunt Charlene and I looked like such a good match. Tell me, what exactly are those in the office saying?”
- Lara’s heart skipped a beat when she looked up and met Damian’s fathomless eyes. She felt very guilty; the next second, though, her face showed a look of surprise. Did he just call Charlene… his aunt? She was astonished. Then, when she saw how serious he looked, she felt a surge of embarrassment.
