Chapter 3 Spectral Vision
- Sullivan also wanted to know where those two had gone!
- As he looked, he noticed something was wrong. He saw no longer Lavinia's seductive figure but layers of skin, bones, and blood vessels.
- This is Spectral Vision!
- He recalled that one of the abilities he inherited was called Spectral Vision, which seemed like a walking CT scan, capable of seeing the intricate details of the human body's veins and blood flow!
- "Sullivan, say something, don't scare me!"
- Lavinia looked anxious. Since he woke up, he had been staring blankly, not saying a word. His gaze seemed strange.
- "Lavinia, I'm fine."
- Sullivan sat up from the bed.
- "You've been taking care of me all night?"
- When Lavinia married, Sullivan was already blind, and now he realised how beautiful Lavinia was!
- Her face was heart-shaped with a classical beauty, and her long black hair and sparkling eyes made her seem exceptionally approachable.
- She was wearing an elegant dress, her hands and fair skin like snow, almost transparent, gently brushing his forehead.
- Her delicate brows were slightly furrowed, adding a touch of tenderness to her already extraordinarily beautiful face.
- "Yes, I came to bring you something, and when I arrived, you were lying on the ground alone. It scared me to death."
- Lavinia said as she picked up a box of Starcrest from the floor.
- Sullivan was taken aback. So, not only did Lavinia teach him how to consummate their marriage, but she also prepared a condom for him.
- "I'm fine now. As for Viola, she probably won't come back."
- Sullivan said with a cold smile.
- "Won't come back? What's going on ... "
- Before Lavinia could finish, there was a sudden noise at the door.
- Three or four burly men walked in.
- "This house has been mortgaged to us. You have three days to either pay 750 thousand dollars to redeem it or move out!"
- The men held property certificates and mortgage contracts.
- "Sullivan, you mortgaged the house?"
- Lavinia looked at Sullivan in disbelief. Their house was about to be demolished; how could he do something so foolish?
- Sullivan didn't speak. It was clear who was behind this!
- He picked up his phone and checked his account. Sure enough, the 4500 dollars remaining in his bank account was gone.
- "The house is mine. The person who mortgaged it to you wasn't me, right?" Sullivan said.
- Because of his blindness, he hadn't had the chance to register his marriage with Viola, so this mortgage contract wasn't valid.
- He was also aware that he had acted out of good intentions back then. He worries that Viola might dislike him because he is blind, so he never goes through with the marriage certificate.
- "The person who mortgaged the house to us is your wife. And the property certificate is in our hands. You don't plan on shirking responsibility, do you?"
- The man glared at Sullivan.
- "The property certificate is in your hands, but the person who mortgaged the house to you isn't me. Also, if you say it was my wife who did it, sorry, I'm still single and haven't registered my marriage with anyone."
- Sullivan remained calm. This was a society governed by the rule of law, not a place where what they said was absolute. There should be proper verification before a mortgage is made.
- "You're lying! We checked. You just had your wedding yesterday!"
- Sullivan looked at the angry man and sneered.
- "Yes, we had a wedding, but she ran away that night, stealing my property certificate and the money from my bank account. I'm planning to sue her for fraud!
- "And as for the wedding, what can it prove? We are not legally married as long as we haven't registered our marriage. I suggest you return the property certificate to me now. As for who scammed you, you should go after them!
- "Otherwise, I'll consider you as having stolen my property certificate!"
- His kindness had not earned him the rewards he deserved; it had even harmed his mother. He would no longer naively believe that good deeds would be rewarded!
- As for that pair of sc*undrels, Sullivan would not let them off!
- "You're scheming, aren't you!"
- The leader of the men was enraged. If what Sullivan said was true, he had been deceived, and it was 750 thousand dollars cash!
- This small yard wasn't worth 750 thousand dollars. At most, it was worth 450 thousand dollars because it was about to be demolished. He had given that amount as a loan to the woman!
- He might be unable to find the woman, but he couldn't just lose 750 thousand dollars without a fight. No matter what, he had to get this house!
- "I've said it. I'm not aware of it. Whoever took your money, go after them!"
- Sullivan's attitude was firm.
- "D*mn it! What if I don't?"
- The man rolled up his sleeves, revealing his strong biceps, and threatened Sullivan with a fierce look.
- "Don't? Why shouldn't you? Just because you prioritize strength over intelligence? Let me clarify: if you were not thinking clearly and got scammed, that is not my fault."
