Chapter 55 Almost

  • Both Conrad and I turned to the same direction when I heard Alice’s voice, almost as if he felt them, too. We were both quick to react. Conrad turned to me, and then ran, with his other hand holding me. We tried to made distance.
  • My hair danced as I made big steps with fast pace. Some strands even lose path and blocked my view. But I couldn’t careless. I could feel them after me. After us, and if we won’t run fast enough to be able to escape them, we’ll both be doomed. Conrad probably knew it because his pace fasten every fraction of second.
  • He was faster than me, so his hand on mine wasn’t helping. I couldn’t caught on to him, and knowing he could go faster, I was aware that I’d only slow him down. I tried to pull my hand away to let go. I thought about letting him go first, and then give him direction consequently. That way, I might get caught, but he would be able to escape. Positively, that would be the best outcome we could come up with. Better than having both of us caught. Better than none of us escaping at all.
