Chapter 99

• "It's okay, honey. What's wrong?" Sherry removed her sunglasses, revealing her contused eyes, bloodshot and mirroring Roxy's. It was a sight she had grown accustomed to, but Sherry didn't seem to notice. She followed Roxy into the house, eager for a playmate.
• Cassy gasped as she saw Kaye. Kaye jolted, anger flashing across her face as she shouted at Sherry to leave, hastily placing her sunglasses back on as if it would shield her from the moment.
• Sherry ran. Kaye marched toward Roxy, grasping her hand tightly. "What did I tell you about talking to strangers?" she scolded as they stepped outside in search of Sherry.
