Chapter 80 Family Time

  • When we were at dinner that night, Van Dyke was busy on the phone. It was only later that I realised that he had skipped a meeting with his friends to spend time with us, Xander and I. Little Xander was thrilled to have his Daddy all to himself. He was carried around the house on Van Dyk’s broad shoulders, roaring with laughter and then, the two of them settled on the floor of the nursery, to play.
  • Although Xander was too small to play with it, Van Dyke had bought him an elaborate train set and I watched, dimpling slightly, at the pair of them, their heads close to each other, the very same colour of hair, brushing each other as they fixed the rails in total concentration.
  • At least, that was what Van Dyle was doing.
