Chapter 27 The Car Crash
- Roxanne had been given a pair of jeans and a shirt, with a deep brown hooded sweatshirt. it was brand new, and she had stared at the label: a designer sweatshirt. As she was being escorted out, she had felt Van Dyke’s eyes upon her from behind the blinds in his study, the room that faced the driveway. She forced herself to walk forward, her head bent to avoid the rain. And felt a prickling of unease; another pair of eyes was on her. Slowly, as if compelled to do so, she looked up to the window on the second floor. A chalk-white face, grotesque in appearance, was watching her, eyes fixed and emotionless. She felt a chill run through her.
