Chapter 64 At Home

  • Roxanne tried not to let the tears of hurt seep out. Keeping her stiff back to the door, she made a concerted effort to make sure her son was comfortable as she glided about the room. Finally, weary beyond words, she stepped to the room that adjoined the nursery. Van Dyke had mentioned casually that it was to be her bedroom, close enough to be beside their son if the toddler came awake at night.
  • It was a moderate-sized room, a comfortable bed sitter and she wandered over to the bed before collapsing on it, too tired to change.
