Chapter 53 Mom & Dad
- Emma and I waited patiently outside the hospital while Charles pulled up in their new white 2024 Audi Q8, it was abso-freaking-loutely stunning. Emma jumped in the back with no hesitation to sit with me on the way to their home. It hasn’t gone unnoticed how jubilant she’s been, since she found out I was preggers. Her smile was as contagious as a common cold. It wasn’t one of those fake as fuck smiles that you can see a mile away. Her smile was authentic, her actions made this crystal clear. It made me feel better knowing that she was genuinely happy to have me over. I was worried they felt obligated because they were just the sweetest humans with the biggest hearts, and I didn’t want them to think I was trying to take advantage of them in any way shape or form.
- Emma pulled me into a warm embrace when I got settled in the back seat. She hugged me the whole way home and played with my hair. I was so tired that I nuzzled into her. I decided to have a little conversation with God in my head, (yes, I do this often, I’m not crazy I just like asking him a bunch of silly stuff and sharing my thoughts with the Big guy on occasion. No, he hasn’t answered me, but that’s ok it’s just nice knowing that he’s listening…) asking him why he didn’t give me Charles and Emma as my biological parents. My life would have been so different. What they have given me in these last 6 plus years had been something that I wished my egg donor would have given me. Alas, I have to play the hand I was delt, but I am grateful to have these two wonderful humans in my life now. They say things happen for a reason; I’m still trying to figure out what those reasons are though, maybe one day I will see the bigger picture.
- I guess when Emma was playing with my hair must have relaxed me so much that I had fallen asleep. Next thing I knew I woke up to a warm kiss from Emma on my forehead whispering “We’re home sweet pea”
