Chapter 2 Threat
- "You're the one I'm after."
- Alanna couldn't believe it. She'd actually been slapped—twice—by that idiot!
- A deep sense of humiliation washed over her. Alanna's gaze sharpened with venomous malice as she lifted her hand, ready to strike back.
- "Demi, you're asking for it!"
- Just as Alanna's hand was about to land on Demi's face, she smirked coldly. With a swift movement, she caught Alanna's wrist and twisted it hard. The sickening sound of dislocation filled the air.
- "Urghh!"
- Alanna's face went pallid as she let out a bloodcurdling scream.
- "Demi, let me go right now! Or I swear, you'll regret this!"
- Demi merely scoffed at her threat and continued tightening her grip. She forced Alanna down to the ground with ease.
- "Who were you calling a dog just now?"
- The Harts had pampered Alanna throughout her childhood. She had never experienced such humiliation.
- The pain in her wrist felt unbearable, fueling the hatred that burned in her eyes.
- "Demi, you are my dog. A lowly, worthless dog! Urghh!"
- Before she could finish, Demi applied more pressure, making her face turn even paler.
- Watching her enemy writhe in pain, Demi smiled sweetly, but the icy look in her eyes sent chills down anyone's spine. She warned, "Think carefully before you speak."
- The look on Demi's face shook Alanna, but her pride wouldn't let her back down. She'd never lower herself to this idiot!
- She glared at Demi, her hatred burning, and through gritted teeth, she spat, "You're just my dog, Demi!"
- "Tsk."
- Demi sighed, sounding almost disappointed, and said with a smile, "I already gave you a chance."
- With a quick snap, Demi dislocated Alanna's other arm.
- "Arggh!"
- Alanna screamed again, louder than before, her face turning even whiter as she teetered on the brink of unconsciousness.
- Demi's eyes sparkled, her smile now sweet and innocent, but her presence made Alanna's knees tremble with fear.
- "So, Alanna," Demi asked softly, her voice dangerously sweet, "Who's the real dog of our family now?"
- She paused for effect, then added in a chilling tone, "Answer wrong again, and maybe I'll just break your right leg next."
- This fool must have gone mad!
- She had already dislocated her arms and was certain that Demi would follow through on her threat.
- Regret filled her chest as she cursed herself—why hadn't she brought her bodyguards today? If they had been there, she wouldn't be at the mercy of this lunatic!
- Clenching her teeth so hard she thought they might break, Alanna had no choice but to choke out the humiliating words. "It's me! I'm your dog!"
- Demi let out a satisfied smile.
- "Good girl. Now, how about a little bark?"
- Alanna's hatred flared like wildfire. She wanted nothing more than to tear Demi apart with her bare hands, and her eyes blazed with venom as she glared at her.
- "Demi, don't push me too far!"
- But Demi's expression didn't change. She smiled lazily, her voice indifferent.
- "Bad dogs get punished. Let me think ... maybe I should just break both your legs next."
- Alanna's heart was filled with frustration and fury. In the end, she knew she had no choice. She bit her lip, the taste of defeat bitter on her tongue, and finally gave in.
- "Woof! Woof! Woof!"
- Demi nodded approvingly, as if praising a well-behaved pet. "Good dog."
- Alanna's eyes were bloodshot, tears of rage threatening to spill.
- The humiliation she endured today made her swear she would repay this fool a thousandfold!
- "Mrs. Snow, Mr. Eric is back!"
- A servant's cheerful voice rang out from behind the door. A moment later, a deep, cool voice followed.
- "You can all leave now."
- "Yes, Mr. Eric."
- At the sound of the door opening, Demi immediately released Alanna's arms and stepped back, returning to her usual simple-minded demeanor.
- The first thing she noticed was a pair of long, slender legs.
- Then her gaze traveled upwards, finally landing on the man's face.
- A single glance left her stunned.
- His eyes were deep, and his features were flawless, like a masterpiece sculpted by the gods.
- But the aura around him was too imposing, making it hard to approach him. The cold elegance he exuded was dangerously enticing.
