Chapter 4 Lucky Star
- Eric roared, "What are you waiting for? Didn't you hear Mrs. Snow's orders? Throw her out!"
- "Yes!"
- Alanna was so furious she almost fainted. This shameless witch not only slapped me but also dislocated both of my arms! And now she had the audacity to pin all the blame on me?
- Absolutely shameless!
- Eric had already given the command. The household staff dared not defy him. Regardless of her identity as the heiress of the Harts, the household staff grabbed Alanna and roughly dragged her out. They tossed her aside like garbage.
- Alanna felt utterly humiliated. Her dislocated arms hit the ground hard, sending waves of pain through her body, nearly causing her to black out.
- Resentment filled her chest, but the intense hatred seemed to clear her mind. Enraged earlier, she didn't notice Demi's out-of-character behavior.
- Now that she thought about it, that ferocity from Demi just now—was that something a fool would show?
- And since when did Demi dare to fight back against her? Something wasn't right. Could it be that this wretched girl wasn't actually a fool anymore?
- ...
- Inside Clotaire Villa.
- Eric lowered his gaze to look at Demi, who was still clinging onto him as if her life depended on it. His brow furrowed.
- "Let go."
- Upon hearing his words, Demi obediently loosened her grip and looked up at him with soft eyes. She looked so sweet and adorable that it was hard not to be charmed by her.
- The group of people following behind Eric couldn't help but feel their hearts melt at the sight of her.
- Eric was unmoved. His cold gaze landed on Demi.
- He wasn't blind. Alanna's swollen face and her dislocated arms made it obvious who was responsible.
- If anyone else had been under Eric's intense gaze, they would have already been trembling in fear. But Demi showed no signs of being afraid. Instead, she wore an expression of pure dependence on him.
- "Honey! You're my hero! You chased the bad person away!"
- Eric stared at her for a few seconds, then gave a slight nod to Ashley Munday, who was standing to the side.
- Ashley immediately understood. He took out a document from his briefcase and placed it in front of Demi.
- "Sign here."
- Though Eric's voice was calm, it carried an air of authority that allowed no room for refusal.
- Demi glanced down at the document, the bold letters at the top catching her eye—Divorce Agreement. Eric had already signed his name; now it was her turn to sign.
- She gently pressed her lips together. Of course, she would sign the divorce papers, but not until she had dealt with the nuisance that was the Harts.
- Demi blinked innocently. She looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes. Her beautiful face was full of naiveté.
- "What's this? Why do I need to sign it?"
- Eric no longer bothered to respond. His expression remained indifferent as he closed his eyes and recuperated.
- Judging from his boss's attitude, Ashley knew right away that this matter was now in his hands.
- He groaned mentally, but he had no choice but to undertake the unpleasant task.
- Forcing a smile, he spoke in a gentle tone, "Mrs. Snow, let me show you how to sign."
- "But no one has told me why I need to sign this!"
- Demi tilted her head. Her expression was full of confusion as she stared at him.
- Ashley sighed heavily in his heart.
- What a sinful act!
- How can I deceive Mrs. Snow without experiencing guilt?
- Just as he had carefully gathered his thoughts and was about to speak, a knock came from the door.
- "Mr. Eric, Mrs. Juliet is here. She's demanding to see you."
- Eric, who had been resting with his eyes closed, immediately opened them at the mention of his grandmother. A trace of helplessness appeared in his otherwise cold, captivating eyes.
- Without a word, he stood and strode toward the living room.
- Ashley quickly followed behind him. Demi quietly slipped the divorce agreement into her pocket without anyone noticing and happily skipped after them.
- Juliet Snow sat on the living room sofa. Despite her age, she was full of energy and looked remarkably youthful.
- "Grandma," Eric greeted.
- At the sight of her grandson, a smile spread across Juliet's face. She hadn't seen him in so long, and of course, she had missed him.
- "Eric, you're finally back!"
- When she noticed Demi following behind him, Juliet's smile grew even wider. She eagerly waved Demi over.
- "Demi, come here! Come to me."
- Juliet was religious. Ever since Demi had married into the family and Eric had woken up from his coma, Juliet had firmly believed that Demi was Eric's lucky star.
