Chapter 7 The Bane Of Everyone's Existence

  • "Oh, it's Mr. Robins! We've crossed paths before!" Timothy greeted Nolan with respect, hurrying over to him.
  • Timothy held Nolan in high regard because he knew Nolan was the lucky star in question. He'd learned from the secretive Master Worth that the lucky star came from the North and was wounded to uncover the family's fate; seeing Nolan with bandages confirmed it. Both Charlotte and Nolan were confused.
  • "By the way, Mr. Robins, where do you come from?" Timothy asked about Nolan's origins.
  • Nolan was thrown by the sudden question. "I'm from Riddlesford."
  • Timothy's expression relaxed as Riddlesford was up north. "Mr. Robins, do you fancy our Charlotte?"
  • Having pinpointed Nolan as their lucky star, Timothy got straight to the point about Nolan's feelings for Charlotte.
  • "Grandpa, what's this about? We're just classmates!" Charlotte nervously clarified, surprised by the sudden visit and strange questions.
  • Watching Charlotte and Nolan together on the couch, Timothy figured out what was going on. "Charlotte, why don't you help Mr. Robins freshen up?"
  • Charlotte went red and swept Nolan to her bedroom while wrapped in a blanket.
  • "Why hurry to Charlotte's place, Grandpa? And what's with trying to cozy up to Mr. Robins?" Charlotte's younger sister Elizabeth wondered.
  • Timothy then explained Master Worth's revelations while Elizabeth and her parents digested this.
  • "If he's the lucky star, then who's the star of calamity?" she inquired, directing attention to the quiet Felix, who was apparently the star of calamity. He had brought nothing but trouble to the family since marrying Charlotte three years ago, leading to their decline in Riverford.
  • "Dad, I advised you against it. Felix is bad news. We didn't want him marrying her," sighed Charlotte's father, Harvey Withers.
  • "We've gone through so much because of it. Charlotte has wasted her time with him," Charlotte's mother, Fiona Winters, put in sadly.
  • Timothy admitted remorsefully, "I made a mistake and believed a liar, allowing this marriage to go through. To make up for that, I have decided to let her take over the family business!"
  • Harvey and Fiona were both thrilled.
  • Elizabeth cheered, "Yay! She's finally free of that man."
  • Felix overheard them and couldn't help chuckling after knowing that Timothy considered Nolan a lucky star. Felix could see that Nolan was the fated bane of everyone's existence according to Spectral Citadel numerology and sensed Nolan's uniquely lonely destiny. Nolan would bring death to those around him gradually until the end.
