Chapter 16 Chance Encounter
- Seeing that Felix was willing to lend a hand, Brayden immediately felt relieved and quickly made space.
- Approaching without checking on Caio, Felix turned to the still-dazed nurse. "Do any of you have silver needles?"
- "This is a modern hospital. Where would we get a silver needle?!" the nurse replied.
- "I have some in my car, Mr. Cohen. I'll go fetch them!" Brayden hastily offered.
- "It'll be too late!" Felix glanced around and spotted several syringes on the table. He grabbed a few and removed the needles from them, then swiftly inserted them into several acupoints on Caio's head.
- Felix's actions startled the attending physician. "What are you doing?" he exclaimed, rushing forward to try to stop Felix. After all, their hospital would bear a significant responsibility if Felix ended up killing Caio. If the Solaris came after them again, he'd be in serious trouble.
- "Quiet, don't disturb Mr. Cohen while he saves the patient. If anything happens, I'll take responsibility!" Thankfully, Brayden intervened just in time, halting the attending physician. He knew what the attending physician was worried about.
- With Brayden's assurance, the attending physician relaxed, allowing Felix to treat Caio.
- Slowly, blood began to seep from the acupoints on Caio's head, and the doctors and nurses looked on, stunned.
- About three minutes later, when the bleeding stopped, Felix waved his hand, and the needles returned to his hand. "Alright, start mending his bones," he instructed. Then, he tossed the needles into the trash bin and left the emergency room.
- "What are you all standing around for? Get to work!" Brayden shouted, prompting the doctors and nurses to finally take action.
- Outside the emergency room, Felix turned to Brayden, who followed him out. "Stay here and take care of him. Come find me tomorrow!"
- Leaving the hospital, Felix planned to find a quiet place to use those medicinal herbs to enhance his cultivation. Suddenly, someone tapped his shoulder.
- Felix turned to see a stunningly beautiful woman. She had long, jet-black hair and captivating, unadorned eyebrows that arched gracefully over her big, crystal-clear eyes, framed by delicate lashes, giving her a charming and adorable appearance. Her petite, tall nose and rosy lips added to her allure. She wore a pleated skirt and a white T-shirt, accentuating her perfect figure, especially her fair, slender legs, which were utterly mesmerizing. In short, she was a woman of exceptional beauty.
- "What? Can't recognize me after just a day?" The woman's lips curved into a beautiful smile as she observed Felix's bewildered expression.
- "I indeed had a hard time recognizing you!" Felix chuckled.
- The woman before him was Emily, who had been dressed in office attire the day before, looking mature, so Felix hadn't paid much attention. But that day, with her changed outfit and appearance, she looked so beautiful that Felix almost didn't recognize her. Despite encountering many beautiful women, including some celebrities and socialites, none could compare to Emily.
- "Felix, what are you doing at the hospital?" Emily asked.
- "A friend was sick, so I came to check on him. What about you, Miss McCoy?"
- "My grandfather was discharged today, so I came to handle the paperwork." Emily continued, "Speaking of which, I haven't properly thanked you for saving my grandfather yet! How about this? Give me your number, and I'll invite you to my house tomorrow so my grandfather can express his gratitude to you in person!" With that, Emily extended her fair hand toward Felix.
- "No need. Like I said yesterday, you saved me, so it was only right that I saved your grandfather." Felix declined.
- "No, it doesn't work like that. I'm forever in your debt for saving my grandfather."
- Helplessly, Felix handed his phone to Emily. After Emily saved her number in Felix's phone and called herself, she returned the phone to Felix.
- Just then, a Benz pulled up, and a tall, rugged middle-aged man stepped out of the car. The instant Felix saw him, he sensed that the man was a master, a very powerful one at that.
- The middle-aged man glanced briefly at Felix before addressing Emily. "Miss Emily, all the paperwork is done."
- "Felix, my ride is here, so I'll be leaving now. I'll come pick you up tomorrow!" Emily waved to Felix before getting into the car.
- After helping Emily into the car and closing the door, the middle-aged man turned his gaze back to Felix. Just a glance, but Felix felt a tremendous intimidation emanating from him, weighing down heavily on him. The immense pressure caused his legs to buckle, and his knees almost gave out.
