• The morning sun cast a radiant glow in the small kitchen where Delaney hurriedly prepared breakfast for Blaine.
• Today felt different, unlike every other morning. There was a shift in the atmosphere, and it stemmed from Blaine's recent change in behavior. He had been kinder to her in the past two days. He's been happier, always talking about work and some promotions he'd been promised, and Delaney was happy... At least, so she thought.
• The recent turn of events left her puzzled. Adonis possessed more than enough evidence to condemn Blaine to a lifetime behind bars, yet he seemed to be treating him well, promising promotions and a salary increase. It simply didn't make sense.
